日比谷ゴジラスクエア Hibiya Gojira [Godzilla] Sukuea [Square] is most directly access from exit A5 of Hibiya Station. The permanent Godzilla statue is on the South of the Square on a raised structure housing The Blue cafe. On 1 February 2024, a pop-up Godzilla statue was erected (on view until 19 March 2024) to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the monster's first assault on Tokyo. Titled "Hibiya meets Godzilla", it depicts Godzilla literally popping out of the plaza, his forearms clearing the ground and his mouth open wide to start consuming tasty passersby. I visited in the morning but there are lights around the installation indicating it will be illuminated in the evenings.

🟨 My hubby and I were at Tokyo Hibiya Midtown mall and saw this Godzilla statue opposite the Tim Ho Wan ( HK) dimsum restaurant and decided to take some photos here. 💛 It was actually John Daub, the "Only in Japan Go" Youtuber who informed us about this area. 🙇🏻‍♀️ Thanks so much to John. 🟦 As you can see from the photos here, the Godzilla sculpture is magnificiently crafted and it stands tall and majestic in this Hibiya Midtown square area.

I had some time to burn so I thought I'd take a detour to visit and see the statue. In person it's slightly underwhelming, the statue isn't as big as you think it may be and it's on top of a garage entrance so you can't get too close. Also I'm really not a fan of the weedy arms! I'm very happy that there is a Godzailla statue (try doing something similar in London) though.
