The concept of a relaxing aromatherapy under a dome of starry nights sounded unique enough for me to try it out. As someone from the US, it was a novel concept not available back at home.
Went to see Arabian nights with the English headphones for translation. When the dome switches over to the stars, the most of essential oils pump throughout the room. No doubt I was so relaxed, I'm inclined to sleep.
With the onslaught of 4k, however, I'm spoiled and the screen quality did not live up to what I was hoping for. The Tokyo/Ginza location was the newer out of the two. Video quality felt similar to using my VR Quest 1 headset. Audio was fine, but the use of the headsets took away the surround sound experience since you're plugging up your ears. I took them out during moments of music just to get a better experience.
I can see it being a nice date spot. But I think the +3 rating is fair for those who were intriguing by the marketing. Shows are 45 min long. Tickets available...
Read moreWe need to kill time so decided to come here before train ride. We didn't know it's actually located inside a mall that's not actually open yet on weekend so we had hard time finding it at first, but we manage to find our way in thankfully. We were able to get tickets for one of the shows.
The place is not very big like an actual planetarium, it's mostly for couples like a romantic date idea or anyone who want some quiet time away from city. The show was held in complete darkness that I almost fell asleep on the comfy chair, they also provided earphones with English narrator so that was very nice. I wouldn't recommend to go out of your way to come here but it's a nice place to get away from the city.
The food and drink was very interesting and sparkly, but not very tasty, at least it looks pretty! The gift shop was fun to look at since there's so many pretty things! Just what I like. I'm glad I got to relax here a bit before leaving on another...
Read moreWas recommended certain seats by the cashier at the ticket desk today and we thought they were pods seats or the ones in the picture for two people. It was very quiet and we bought in advance so there was no reason we didn't get the good seats. I'm pregnant, tall and have back pain so the single or double pod type seats would have been great. Instead I was in a lot of pain. We were seated towards the back of the theater and the story was terrible and sad. We really wanted to see the one in Dome 2 but the cashier would not allow us to get tickets for it because it was in Japanese and apparently I needed a ticket for Dome 2 to see Dome 1. Perhaps we just came at a really bad time of day and we had to wait over an hour. Which was pretty tedious. Also it is basically just a cinema and not like the planetariums I have been too in other countries which are more science based and...
