I have more room to type out this review than other platforms, so bear with me. Don't stay at this hotel, if not for your sake, then mine. This place won't give you top-notch quality in Ginza, Tokyo. TLDR: look at the photos. Otherwise read on. When I was given the key card to our room I was met with stains on the ugly beige-pink carpet. Unbelievable. I go downstairs, (their lobby is definitely a front with the glamor) and ask to switch rooms. I'm given the room parallel to the previous one. It's the same thing: stains, outdated bathroom, terrible style. If it was just an old room, then fine, one can manage, we're exhausted from the journey. But then over the course of two nights, I began to notice the true horror: dust, dust, dust EVERYWHERE. On the desk, the napkin holder, the hairdryer, the vent. Worst of all, on the bed. Is that why my pants after the whole duration of the trip was dustiest after leaving the room the first morning? Old glue or mold for all I fear is in the corners of the mirror. There's questionable black specs on the shower curtain (yes, I had to blink twice). I looked inside the teapot, I think grime and calcium from the water had accumulated there. The soap while taking a bath left it's own sticky residue, lovely. I froze when I saw the BIDET sprayer. Go look. This is an item exposed and intentionally meant to spray...there. I've seen park toilets and the public bathrooms in the train stations with cleaner bidets! The coffee stains above and behind the trash can is a joke. Neither a previous guest or the hotel cleaning staff were trying. Opened all the useless drawers, which of course, had to be the only thing uselessly left clean. ||In the end on the day of departure, I go up to the front staff to tell them I was unsatisfied with my stay. They say they can't do anything about it. I show them the pictures. Nope, can't do anything now. No refund. Maybe if I'd said something the day before, when they could've happily kicked me out in addition to already having a provided a terrible room for $300. Explain to me how it's appropriate for a guest to have to check the quality of cleanliness of a hotel when we're paying for it. Rated 4 stars, in GINZA of all places. I don't budge. He brings out his manager. They speak in Japanese. The situation is explained, the pictures are shown yet again. No, sorry, nothing can be done. I'm internally shocked. They weren't surprised or remorseful in anyway. I explain to them how it's "literally a hygienic problem" on the hotel's part. All they do is mutter an apology. I'm glaring at them and ensure they know how disgusted I am with the look in my eyes. An under-the-rug apologetic bow is baffling. ||(Don't let me forget to add you won't have any view because the window is 75% made opaque even if you're on the 10th floor. Oh, and the mini fridge sucks. My drink was room temperature when I took it out. And no, they don't put the fancy satin bedspread and matching pillow like shown in the photos on their actual website. That's probably...
Read moreWe had this hotel booked within the package deal from British Airlines, so we were quite excited because it was our first time in Japan. However when we arrived there that changed to disappointment. We had been travelling for about 18 hours from our home in the UK. Our flight landed around 7am local time and our pre-booked transfer was waiting for us so far so good, arrived at the hotel around 8am, we went to check in and was told we couldn’t check in till 2pm even though we had just been on a 14 hour flight, it was raining but we had no option but to do something otherwise we would have to sit around for 6 hours. We went to get a coffee and some breakfast baring in mind we didn’t have a clue where to go. We returned back to the hotel an hour later because we didn’t want to get soaked. I was jet lagged to say the least. We checked in at 2pm. We went to the room which was very disappointing, it was a double room but more like a box room with a double bed which was pushed to the wall. I had to either climb over my husband or shuffle down the bed if I needed to get up for the toilet. No room to put cases. It was just has they say no room to swing a cat. |To say we spent nearly £4k for the holiday it was very much like a budget holiday. The upside of the hotel was that it was in a good location. We spent 6 nights there and then moved to a second hotel in Tokyo Bay called InterContinental which was really nice and the room was like suite just a pity our whole holiday...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Hotel Gracery Ginza in Tokyo and had a delightful experience. I booked two rooms: a double and a triple. While the double room was indeed very small, this was the only drawback of an otherwise excellent stay.
The rooms were reasonably clean and well-maintained. The hotel offers a cosy lounge in the lobby where guests can enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and juice, which was a lovely touch. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any queries or needs.
Best of all, the hotel provides ice, warm and cold water, and vending machines on every floor, adding to the convenience and comfort of the stay.
The location of the hotel is fantastic, being very well connected with many different train lines. All the train stations are within walking distance, making it incredibly convenient to explore Tokyo. Situated right in the middle of Ginza, the hotel is surrounded by a plethora of shopping options, from luxury brands to popular street brands and local favourites like Uniqlo, GU, and Muji. Don Don Donki, a popular store, is open until 4am, which is perfect for late-night shopping. Additionally, on weekends, the main road in Ginza is closed to vehicles, allowing pedestrians to enjoy a leisurely stroll.
Overall, despite the small size of the double room, I highly recommend Hotel Gracery Ginza for its excellent location, friendly staff, and comfortable amenities. It made our stay in Tokyo...
