Hibiya Park
Was one of the little parks we thought we should pop by since we were around the area.
Not a main attraction. But something we thought would be ok to see a little of.
It definitely isn’t a big park by any measure. But it was one where you could catch a glimpse of the local people’s lifestyle / habits / interactions.
Many couples were sitting on benches, having little sandwiches / snacks.
Very children friendly as well. Saw a few mums with kids in the pram and another running around.
I thought it was lovely to see an old couple was also taking a stroll
Surprisingly saw numerous tourists showing up during my walk in the park too.
Not a sea of blooms, but there are splatters of flowers here and there. I say splatter in terms of quantity but the flowers are actually thought out and well maintained.
Birds have probably gotten used to humans, didn’t budge a bit when even I got closer to take pics.
Maybe I came at a time when it was less green, but no less vibrant in terms of visitors.
Best to stop by in a season where it’s greener. Nonetheless only a short while was spent here.

Tokyo’s first Western style park, established in 1903, Hibiya Park is surprisingly verdant and quite expansive, occupying nearly 200,000 m² (161,636.66 m²).
The park actually extends all the way from the Imperial Palace’s east gardens to Kasumigaseki, home many central Japanese government buildings, including the iconic National Diet Building.
In fact, the park is so close to this government district that many protest marches gather here to get organized before starting the officially sanctioned protest.
It’s not uncommon to hear the call and response vocalizations echo through the loudspeakers as the protesters march from the park towards their destination.
