西日暮里公園の西側にある臨済宗の寺院で、山門入り口に荒川区教育委員会が設置した案内板「滝沢馬琴の筆塚と花見寺（青雲寺）」が建っています。青雲寺は、坂道を登った高台にあり、樹木や記念碑がある落ち着いた境内です。桜の木もありますが、1～2本ですので、花見で人が集まる程ではありません。江戸時代とは寺院境内の様子が変化したのでしょう。 江戸時代中期の宝暦年間（1751年〜1764年）の創建で、寺院境内に「滝沢馬琴の筆塚」の他、安永元年（1772年）建立の日暮里舟繋松の碑、さらには狂歌師安井甘露庵の碑もあります。歴史の一端に触れることができる寺です。
