今回荘内神社お参りのためやってきました。　鶴岡公園内に荘内神社、藤沢周平記念館、鶴岡護国神社、大寳館があります。

鶴ヶ岡城は、室町時代初期、武藤長盛による築城が始まりといわれており、古くは大宝寺城と呼ばれ、武藤（大宝寺）氏滅亡後、越後上杉氏の居城となり、1601年、山形の最上氏による庄内支配の拠点となり、その2年後鶴ヶ岡城に改称。最上氏改易後の1622年、信州松代より酒井忠勝が入部して以降、藩主酒井氏は、1871年の廃藩置県まで12代・約250年この地を治め、その間鶴ヶ岡城が酒井氏の居城となりました。 1868年9月、庄内藩は戊辰戦争で降伏し、鶴ケ岡城を新政府軍に明け渡しました。

その後、城郭取り壊し令により1876年に城内の全建築物の破却、大部分の土塁の取り壊し、堀の埋め立てが行われ、新たに一般開放の鶴岡公園となりました。翌年には、住民が酒井家の善政を追慕し、鶴岡公園内の本丸跡に藩祖を祀る荘内神社が住民により建立。酒井家当主は、今もなお殿様と慕われ、鶴岡の地に...
