Catholic Tsuruoka Church — Attraction in Tsuruoka

This old church is a national treasure. Built in 1903, it has a romanesque style with stained glass of some Catholic figures and parables. It also has a classic pipe organ.

You can see Black Madonna there aside Japanese flower arrangement. The holy mass is conducted in Japanese, but there is a mass guidebook available in english and tagalog. There's a lot of parking lot for cars and bike and a wheelchair access is also available.

鶴岡カトリック教会さんには、Googleマップで見つけて来てみました。

幼稚園が併設されておりますので、入りにくいですが中に入って声をかけたところ、とても歓迎して頂きました。

教会の中に入ると、パイプ椅子が並べられておりちょっとびっくりしましたがとても美しい建物内でした。歴史が深いのにも関わらず、とても綺麗に維持されていて信者の方々に感謝です。

ここには、日本で唯一の黒いマリア様の像があります。優しいお顔にとても癒されます。

このマリア様の像の前には、寄付金箱があります。無料で公開されていますが、これからも存続して欲しい、とても心が癒されたというお気持ちがありましたらお金を入れて頂けると、嬉しいです。

教会を見学する際のマナーは、インターネットでいくつか書かれていますので一度見てから行くのがいいと思います。
