Asahiyama Castle Ruins — Attraction in Uji

A nice place away from the crowd. It's has a nice view of Uji, Osaka and Kyoto. It's popular with local people staying in the are and having an evening walk. You might get to interact with the local birds as there are a dozen or so seed trays placed by the locals to attract birds. There's a mini shrine called Asahiyama Kanzeon Bodhisatva and a cairn that is possibly the remnant of castle ruins. The hill is not steep and it's well marked but can be slippery when wet.
