While visiting the New Park (Astana Square Park) in Almaty, I noticed two statues of women at the center. After checking, I learned they are of Alia Moldagulova and Manshuk Mametova, two brave Kazakh soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World War II—one at the age of 19 and the other at 21. Both were the first women soldiers from Kazakhstan to be awarded the title 'Hero of the Soviet Union,' one of the highest honors for Soviet soldiers. Эта оценка за весь сквер. Любимое место с детства. Рада, что идёт иногда реконструкция ,с сохранением первозданного вида. Но кстати, плитки вокруг памятника в ужасном состоянии. Особенно с южной стороны. Всё рассыпалось, красного цвета, выбоины. По углам в обрамлении постоянно возникают лужи. Хотя в центральной части у борта посадили кустики. Вопрос, почему бы не посадить растения в углах для осушения. Ещё мои дети прыгали в этих лужах, теперь прыгают внуки. И не исключаю, что я это же делала в детстве. Очень много старых деревьев. Обрезка произведена странно. Впечатление, что из деревьев сделали пальмы. Не уверена, что стволы внутри не трухлявые. В городе много туй жёлтого цвета. Полностью сухие. Таких деревьев много и в...
