I’ve never left a negative review in my life for any establishment. I instead opt to not leave a review at all. But I must share this horrendous experience with others so no one makes the mistake of going here. My colleagues and I booked the stay for around 5 nights. We booked through booking.com, and were asked online if we needed a smoking or non smoking room. We opted for smoking and point to note the conversation was on text through the app. Pictures attached||||We checkin to Mildom and the lady tells us there’s no balcony rooms available however you may smoke today in the room and we’ll provide you with a smoking room tomorrow. The next day they tell us to shift into Mildom Premium, the same hotel as them except claiming to be more ‘luxurious’. We check in and they tell us it’s going to cost us 20000 KZT extra (approx $60) for the room as it’s bigger. This was unusual as they never mentioned this before or a bigger room however we paid them as the reason we asked to be shifted was to get a smoking room. ||||On the night of checkout, as im leaving these two women working at the front desk, tell me there is a situation where you’ve smoked in the room and there will be a penalty on you before you leave. Im staring at their faces in disbelief and not only this, but they send a bell boy upstairs to our room to check for smells of cigarettes. I know this because as he came down one of the women asked him if he checked and presumably got PICTURES to which he said no and she was visibly irritated by him. I try to explain calmly at first that we have the conversation with booking.com where you guys have agreed to give us a smoking room. This exasperated women starts getting irritated and by that time I’d called a friend who understood Russian.||||She tells him they have video of us smoking in the room and she looks at her computer and reads out my passport details while looking threateningly at me as if she’ll turn me in (which btw lol I already had my passport with me). I get extremely irritated by this point and tell her that we aren’t denying we smoked. Just for laughs I asked her why don’t you show me the video then. She says her manager has it and she can’t show it right now 😂. My friend then speaks to her in Russian and shows both these women my. Booking.com convo which id been trying to so many times before. They immediately saw their mistake and asked us to please not take any offence to what they said. ||||This kind of harassment deserves to be publicised and I urge any potential travels to Almaty Kazakhstan to stay away for your own sake. We are a family of 6 people , so we booked 3 rooms and contacted the hotel a long time before our arrival to have the rooms in the same floor near together. One day before our trip, I confirmed the availability of the rooms and made sure that rooms will be ready by the check time. When we arrive at 5 p.m . One of the rooms was not ready yet, they try to fix the door! One more thing, there is no elevator!! Just stairs and as parents are suffering from their knees, it was painful to reach the third floor every time we want to go outside the hotel! They booked for us on the third floor and when we asked to find others at the second level they said it is full booked!! We asked them again in the next days as we will stay here for 7 days, they didn’t find any for us!! We reserved the rooms a month ago and they must give us the priority and respect our needs but!!! When I want to talk about the worst things in this hotel, I can say: not cooperative, rooms are narrow and not spacious, old furniture, old towels, not clean mugs, carpet inside and outside the rooms are dirty, bad housekeeping as they just change the towels when we ask, and just put sugar and tea without cleaning very well or vacuuming!! The water tap in the master room was damaged as it was movable and we notified the hotel. They sent us a plumber next morning and knocked the door two times and we didn’t open as we were sleeping and tired! The third time we heard someone knocking the door then opened the door then closed when we screamed! The sign door board not works in all rooms at this floor!! So, guest can’t send any message such as not disturb or clean my room!! You have to lock the door to feel safe. There are a lot of long stairs even in the entrance!!! No pullman at the time of our arrival to help us to carry our luggage which forced my sons to carry the stuff to the third floor which is not polite to let the guests to serve themselves! The women work in the reception had nothing to do with our requests!! They must ring us vis the telephone if something happens or they need anything regarding our rooms. Read moreWe were a group of travelers of 8pax in 4 rooms as part of a package from MMT india. Upon arrival, they insisted a refundable deposit @50usd per room, forcefully we remitted. The cleanliness and overall condition of the space were far from what we anticipated based on travel website reviews. The room appeared to be in a state of disrepair, with noticeable signs of neglect. Given the uncomfortable and unsanitary conditions, we hardly manage to adjust ourselves to stay in the hotel. Location is very pathetic, nothing around you, only the pros part is breakfast manageable but not up to the mark. When check out these hotel people charged each room 20000T equal to INR4000, saying that towel seen with stain, certain rooms found with smoke smells, even we were not advised that the hotel is a non smoke hotel and other etc. etc. charges. Actually they want to swallow the refundable deposit what we remitted. We checked out after remitting all the fines, and taken Astana international hotel 4* with no issues, no deposit, smoking no problem, in the middle of everything, just relaxed what we missed at hotel Mildom. The next day I went to collect my jeans which I forgot to take on check out, they refused to give it back, that was a very shame thing for a hotel wherever in earth. We believe that providing a comfortable and clean environment is somewhat worthy for ensuring a positive guest experience. I hope that this feedback will contribute to improvements in the future and help maintain the reputation of this hotel management.
