This is a great place to stay. The hostess Katya speaks almost perfect English, is cheerful and full of laughter, She has the most amazing contacts for experiences in Kyrgystan (Golden Eagle training is a must do). She and her husband have a fleet of well maintained Russian 4wheel drives to take guests up the valleys that cannot be accessed any other way (Altyn Arashan, Karakol etc). These vehicles are amazing and can go anywhere!!! They are a great husband and wife team. The guest accommodation is modern and clean and well laid out with comfortable beds and room for suitcases etc. Three modern bathrooms and four bedrooms with a small lounge area and a laundry are located in the guest wing. A well appointed guest lounge and dining area with a huge fireplace is across a courtyard. The breakfast is fresh cooked-with fresh fruit available in the dining area every morning. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate facilities available for the guests in the same room. The garden is beautiful with shady fruit trees and flower gardens. Lovely dog and unusual cat on site too. These hosts can arrange all kinds of adventure activities and in winter this place would be the best base for skiing in Karakol. Super quiet...

Read moreEvergreen Guesthouse in Karakol was honestly one of the best places I have stayed during my numerous travels. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming—just one of those people who makes you feel right at home straight away. The free breakfast was amazing, super fresh and filling, and way better than I expected. It was a treat to eat three different home-made jams with Russian pancakes. Plus, I was also able to do my laundry for free, which was such a nice surprise and super helpful after being on the road for a while. Just a really cozy, thoughtful place with great vibes all around. And if you like cats then you are for a treat. They are super friendly and wonderful...
