When I read fashion museum, I expected it to give me an overview of different eras but this wasn't the case. Currently there is an exhibition of 1920's and a bit of 1930's facion. I think they change the exhibition every now or then as well. Nevertheless the overview I got from the 20's was very profound. The thing that bothered me was that the audio guide I got in Estonian was just very bad, the text was read by AI, so the pronunciations were wierd and often wrong when it came to peoples names. The museum is relatively small, there are only 2 rooms of exponents. One of the rooms had small section of clothes from different eras but these didn't really have any...

Modas muzejs is an unforgettable place to see in Riga! One can see fashion clothes ranging from those worn in the 1830's, through dresses typical for the 1930's, and 1960's, designed by French, Italian, Finnish, Spanish, and Amerinan designers. Stylish dresses made from polyester, Crimplene, nylon, cellulose (designed in the 1960's, sic!) and silk. Matching legant shoes are on display. Awesome pieces! Musem is arranged in an innovative and sophisticated way, music played in the background matches the fashion period. Great cafe at the site, offering 10% discount for museum visitors, shop with souvenirs. Very kind personnel. I am undr impression of this...

A wonderful place for coffee and cake. The staff were welcoming and the decor is lovely, it was like stepping back in time. Everything was very pretty. I had a filter coffee €1, serve yourself, and an eclair which was dusted with icing sugar and oozing cream and strawberry conserve. Delicious. Afterwards I popped into the museum, which has display cases of beautiful crinoline dresses, and glittering hair ornaments. If you liked playing dressing-up as a child, this is a place you will love. (But if you’re not that into dresses, don’t visit, as the entrance fee is quite high for a fairly small collection—I loved it, but was glad I had left Husband at work!)
