1. Rooms are dark. Don't get me wrong, theres a light in the room - but its as if nothing can illuminate this room. Its just dark. If you want to read a book - bring a flashlight. 2. Another ridiculous downfall - the entrance to the hotel is through a giant metal gate, in order to get in you have to ring the bell so the doorman would come and open the door, doesnt matter if its 10 in the morning or 3 at night. Sometimes you have to wait for 5 minutes. Other than that - decent breakfast, nice beds, staff are nice and prices are affordable.

The hotel has a very classic Italian look with lots of potraits and antique for art lovers, it is located in the centre of the old town which makes it easier to get around, also just 2 minutes walk from the bus stop and very quiet too. Breakfast is also available and the rooms are quite cheap a d neat. Housekeeping cleans everyday, some rooms have sauna, jacuzzi and a balcony. I highly recommend.

Amazing value for money, very nice interior. Very fancy. only issue was the gate in front is always locked and you have to ring a bell to get someone to let you in. It seems unnecessarily restrictive but we were only waiting a long time one day.

Unfortunately, my 5 nights stay in the hotel left only negative emotions. I'll start with the most unpleasant, while packing my bags, I mentioned that my gold necklace, which I’ve left on the table in the room, was missing. I have reported it to the manager. She called the cleaner and asked in front of me if she took the necklace, obviously her answer was “no”. No further action was taken. The only way you can get in the hotel is through metal gates which are constantly closed. Security man will open the gates on request. Very often he is not there and you have to wait for 5 minutes outside in the cold until someone finally comes and opens gates to you. On the photos, rooms look gorgeous, unfortunately in reality they are not. The bathroom in my room was broken, the light in the bathroom is so dim that you can barely find a tap. For all 5 nights bedding was never changed. If you arrive for breakfast late don’t expect there will be anything left. I arrived 30 minutes before the end of breakfast, and almost all the plates were empty no food left. Very long queue at the only one coffee machine. I had to move the dirty dishes to the side to sit at the table, waitress is not bothered to clean anything. The choice of food is also very poor. The elevator did not work. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I would not return there either.

Booked this hotel via a booking site believing the adverts that this was an older but adequate hotel (the four star rating was most likely self-awarded but that was OK) and found that it has hardly any of the amenities it offers on its website.||The first red flag was having to pay on arrival rather than on check out (never seen this before) and the fact that check in took about 20 minutes. We also arrived early evening to the hotel looking closed and having to be let in through the gate by a security guard (this turned out to be at all hours).||Room was dated, the 'antique' furnite in the room worn out. Beds OK and at least bedding clean. Bathroom was OK but had broken mirror and shower tray drained very slowly. Loose floorboards meant that everything in the room shook when anyone walked.||Generally felt dark and worn out. At least it was quiet and very close to the centre of the old town. Second star is for the location. ||It is a real shame as Riga is beautiful and we had a good time otherwise. ||We will stick to branded hotels in future. ||||There is no swimming pool as the website states. There is no bar as the hotel decided to close it owing to complaints about prices. The lobby and other communal areas had an awful smell which my friend said was most likely a dirty mop...

It might have been a 4-star hotel sometimes in the distant past but the fourth star has fallen long ago. The lobby is a bit worn out and there was a constant sewage smell in the air. Breakfast was not up to 4 stars but it seems to be the same level to similar class hotels in latvia. The room carpet and walls were worn out and wallpaper scratched. Still the sauna and bathroom were fine looking. The bed was ok, and linen clean. The TV was not turned in to any channels so i had to do an automatic channel search by myself. Channels were limited and quite many had a jerky and cloudy picture quality. The suite was large enough. It was most of the time quiet. The location os excellent for an old town lover.

I do not understand why i could not enter to the hotel and get out without having to call a doorkeeper, what a nuicance. Automation is the key here even though the doorkeeper was fast and friendly.

Also they told they have an electric lift to park the car for 20 eur per night but the car was indeed parked outside 200m away on a side of the main magistral. I do not like being told there is a private secure parking when...
