Nice art museum and exhibition. but I had one very weird experience, While I was charging my phone ( while I asked permission for) One old lady came and angrily plugged out my charger and throw it on ground and shouted "museum No" and babbled sth while going. I was speechless, I went to reception and asked his permission and I charged my phone while standing, but I sincerely ask museum management to talk to their employees, tourist have everything in their phones nowdays if my phone battery dies I can not even get back to the parking, I keep password address map etc there, I have charged my phone in every single museum I've visited in the world, this behavior was unique to me, and very rude, Latvians are very nice and Friendly people but some people like this lady creates a bad memory of a whole country...

Folkore motives, national costumes, war for independence routine, overview of professions, of daily life coincided with epic pictures and framed as modernism or abstractionism styles. Read moreThe museum lies on the foundations of the former St. George's church, built more than 800 years ago. It is a gorgeous building, inside and out, as the wooden posts and intermediate floors are well preserved on the second and third floor. There is one temporary exhibition situated in the prayer hall of the former church and two permanent exhibitions on the upper floors.
