Well-marketed but in reality itâs not what it seems. There was a considerable language barrier, their English is not great. I wanted to give myself into the hands of this amazing professional colourist, I basically said I want my hair less boring overall, maybe some highlights and lowlights to add dimension to my hair colour, but to stay a brunette. he proceeded to show me photos of aggressive bleach blonde ombrĂ© so I specified that I didnât want it too blonde. They seemed really confused. They did a bleach strand test which they said they would check in 10 minutes, but they left me sitting there for half/hour so I had to catch the staff and remind them to check it multiple times. When Mounir finally came back to check it the test strand stretched and melted like chewing gum. They still proceeded to do a balayage (seems like the only thing they know how to do?) The lighting inside the salon is dull and cool-toned so your hair colour in the end looks good in the mirror. Also whatever leave-in products they used combined with a professional blow-out makes the texture and the ends of your hair look good. But when you leave the salon and look at it under any other light - your hair is uneven colours of the rainbow. After I washed my hair once or twice at home, all the blue/purple toner washed out instantly and I was left with bright yellow and extremely dry, dead hay-like ends which started to split everywhere just a couple of weeks later. They didnât even suggest for me to buy any maintenance products to use at home to maintain the ends and toner colour. Tiny trim off the ends which took 2 minutes. All that for $400. The staff were not very attentive. Wi-fi wouldnât connect. Clients smoke inside. If it was a much cheaper less-hyped salon I wouldnât give it such a low rating. But for this price it ruined my hair and I have to cut it off. Sorry...
Read moreThis review is about the nail salon part and not the hair. I went to do my nails at Mounir for the first time and it was horrible. I asked for acrylic extensions and thats when everything went downhill⊠First, the nail lady pulled out some half tips (of very low quality), rather than a form sticker and when i asked for the form instead she told me they donât do that because its more time consuming and âunhealthyâ for the natural nail⊠lazy, false excuses. THEN, when she was putting the acrylic and forming the nails, they looked soooo horrible! They werenât straight, had NO c curve, were bulky, and were extremely bumpy from the top and i swear to god she did not know how to do square nail despite it being the EASIEST! (based on experience because i learned how to do my nails myself after). I also want to mention the attitude the pedicure lady had and the wait i went through just to get someone to begin with my nails even though i had a full mani-pedi appointment. Finally, (the most important partâ ïž) after about 5 days, the nails started to lift and 1 fully broke off to reveal that it became INFECTED and turned YELLOW! Honestly, scary experience....
Read moreMy fiance flew all the way from Canada to Lebanon to get her hair done with Mouniir. I booked her the appointment and called them 3 times before she flew to confirm and make sure Mounir himself would be doing her hair. And they told me that he would be doing the whole thing. Mounir told her he could not do any of the colours she asked although on instagram he shows as if he can create miracles. Although she told Mounir she does not want to get her hair done unless it's him doing it, he lied and said Nibal would be doing the bleach and he would take over after. He did not even touch her hair once until the end. End result was good, thanks to Nibal, Mike and Nasser, they were great. Mounir just walks around putting some hair extensions to take his videos. He needs to be more honest and not make people fly all the way to Lebanon if he is not the one who will be doing your hair. PS. Hairs he does does not look as healthy and shiny as he shows on instagram. It's the camera, lighting and...
