Probably one of the most interesting museum i ever visited. This place is full of objects from all around the world that shows how important Penang was as a trade route. But it also shows a more social aspect about life under colonial rules: How some people from Penang society tried to expose their wealth and power in order to elevate their status to the British standards. For 30 ringits, you get access to the museum and you get a guided tour. Our guide, Nicole, was so lovely and seemed really passionated about her job. She answered our questions about malay/chinese culture and gave us so many anecdotes about most of the objects exposed in the museum while linking it to a larger explanation about past and present Malaysian society. The musuem and the collection are well kept and exhibited in well organized and attractive manner. The guide speaks excellent English and was very knowledgeable and friendly. The owner welcomes the visitors herself and gave us a discount on the enterance fees. Though the full price of 30 Rm is still reasonable fees to see such amazing collection.
