Went there for my birthday but stayed for the wonderful experience :)

  1. all staff very friendly warm and welcoming ( 1 aunty and 3 guys) 26/12/2022

2)At first it was full house ! because we no booking but the friendly aunty din give up and manage to find slot for us. ( normally people would turn us away )

  1. Upon sitting down the friendly aunty ask who's birthday and wished my happy birthday and recommend us some good food

  2. I recommend the secret item which not in menu

-FRIED tu kar or tu chiew ( pork leg or pork hand ) very tasty and worth the price -It comes 2 or 3 different sauces -the fried fish is also nice. very crispy and not dry at all

  1. Food is very tasty. my family mentioned it was the best thai food in penang by far. It deserved to be recommend for Michelin star.

-the rice is not ordinary rice. its thai fragrant rice

  1. Staff very attentive and friendly although busy serving many customers

we did not order any water but they offered to give us water and some nice thai cups and nice

  1. We brought a birthday cake. they even light the candles for us and bring plates, fork and napkins which we did not ask. And they started playing birthday song and sang along. Truly a wonderful and happy experience. Our family were so touched and i've never been so happy celebrate my bd in a restaurant. WE ENDED UP SHARING OUR CAKE WITH THEM :)

Looking forward going back there. I will definitely recommend to my friends and family in future! Now It almost feels like home every time...

Nestled in the heart of Penang's culinary scene is a hidden gem that embodies the essence of Malaysian dessert culture—Blue Chang. This delightful treat, known for its striking blue hue derived from butterfly pea flowers, offers a sensory journey unlike any other.

From the first glance, Blue Chang captivates with its vibrant color, hinting at the natural ingredients and meticulous preparation that await. Each bite reveals a perfect balance of textures: the soft, sticky glutinous rice gently infused with the subtle floral notes of butterfly pea, complemented by the creamy richness of coconut milk.

What truly sets Blue Chang apart is its ability to transport you through taste and tradition. It's not just a dessert; it's a connection to Malaysian heritage, a testament to the craftsmanship passed down through generations. Whether enjoyed as a sweet ending to a meal or savored with a cup of local tea, Blue Chang leaves an indelible impression, a testament to its place in Penang's culinary legacy.

For those seeking a taste of authenticity and a moment of culinary bliss, Blue Chang stands as a testament to the rich tapestry of Malaysian flavors. Prepare to be enchanted by its color, comforted by its flavors, and captivated by its story—a dessert experience that promises to linger in memory long after...

Our mistake to be confused by this with Blue Elephant Restaurant from Bangkok because the name is very similar. But Blue Chang's food really suits our palate.

We ordered Thai holy Basil stir fried minced pork, Pad Thai and the Crab Omelette.

Basil pork by far is the MVP, basil is fresh and fragrant, fish sauce and other seasoning are well proportioned too, mere complaint is it's a bit oily.

Pad Thai is pretty moist, with lime juice it adds abit more tanginess and freshness to it. But we would prefer it to be drier, slightly burnt and more wok-hey would be great, but that's just our personal preference.

Fried Crab omelette is nice too, crab meat is tender and need not worry about having shells at all. Egg smells and taste great too but seems overcooked, crab meat isn't as packed, but the portion is quite satisfying. It is served with Thai seafood sauce and Thai sweet chili sauce, but I do recommend to eat without sauce to fully experience the taste of it.

Staffs/Owner are very attentive, serving speed is pretty quick, we only waited about 5+ minutes, but Crab Omelette do takes more time which is understandable. Finding parking can be a bit challenging. Overall a good dining experience, will come back for Mama mee or...

To be honest, it’s just so-so—kind of overhyped on xhs. In terms of authenticity, not really; there are much better and tastier Thai restaurants out there. 1. Coconut Milk Soup – Not rich enough. The overall taste is there, but adding more spices and flavors would enhance it a lot. 2. Fried Shrimps – Not bad. Plenty of shrimp inside and nicely coated with breadcrumbs. 3. Crab Meat Omelette – Fresh crab meat used; both the presentation and taste are good. 4. Fried Oyster Omelette – Quite disappointing. We expected something like what we had in Bangkok: a fried omelette with a bit of starch at the bottom for crispiness and oysters on top. Instead, it turned out to be fried dough with just a few tiny oysters—definitely not worth the price. The whole dish was mostly flour and dough, with no real taste or sign of eggs. 5. Desserts – Also disappointing. They basically just poured thick santan from a pack and added some toppings. That’s not how it should be done ok. Overall, the service is great, and reservations are recommended. But food-wise, it’s not as good as it looks or as expected. Worth a second visit? Personally, I’d say no.

I visited Blue Chang Thai Restaurant today and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with a modern twist that sets it apart from traditional Thai eateries. The decor is tasteful and creates a pleasant dining atmosphere. The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Thai dishes. I had the pleasure of tasting the **Tom Yum Goong**, which was an explosion of flavors with just the right amount of spice. The **Pork Knuckle** was tender and succulent, paired beautifully with the rich sauce. The **Paku Vegetable** and **Crab Roll** were also outstanding, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to fresh ingredients and vibrant flavors. There were many more dishes that I couldn't resist trying, each one delicious in its own right. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who made the dining experience even more enjoyable. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided fantastic recommendations. Overall, Blue Chang Thai Restaurant is a fantastic spot for anyone craving authentic Thai food. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning!
