We were in a Family Room (Superior) - smoking allowed.
The room & bathroom were clean. The hot water heater worked. The air conditioner was cold. The towels & bedding provided were clean as well. However, there's only one plug point in the room.
The lady at the concierge who checked us in was professional & efficient. So was the senior gentlemen who extended our check-out time. Although, the advertisement says RM50+ to extend check-out til 5p.m., he patiently explained that the actual charge is half of the room rate & dependent upon the type of room. Our Family Room (Superior) cost RM220 per night but we'd only paid a discounted rate of RM142 per night via Agoda. The gentlemen then proceeded to give us a discount. The guard was very friendly & always greeted us with a big smile & "Good morning!". He even helped us reverse out of the parking lot safely.
It's an old hotel so expect the carpets in the corridor to smell a little musty. The room itself has wood-like vinyl flooring which is a plus.
The ironing room could do with an upgrade & afford to be a little cleaner. The Jacuzzi facility requires additional payment of RM380 for one-time use & RM400 for a day's use - something to that effect. There is a simple three-stool bar in the lobby.
Kedai Kopi Chop Heap Seng is on the same block as the hotel & serves bao, dim sum, Koay Teow Th'ng, Wan Tan Mee, appam & Western food for breakfast.
Goodall Cafe on Jalan Gottlieb, opens 6p.m. onwards, is a large food court. It has a good selection of Char Koay Teow, Asam Laksa, Penang Hokkien Mee, Oh Chien, Ikan Bakar, Lor Bak, Steamboat, Western food, Italian food etc is about 400 meters away from the hotel. So are a 7-Eleven & Happy Mart, other...

-Bed was comfy -Aircon was cold enough -The room looked very old - i think the rooms on the third floor are not refurbished? They looked like they were from the 70s/80s Water tap when opened, red/brown liquid flowed out into the bathtub (which i assume is the tap being dirty) Receptionist looks very tired and gloomy Looks 100% different from the agoda/booking.com listings
Spooky experience: When we checked in to the first room around 3am… we realised the manual lock was broken. Not caring much, we went to rest abit. The electric doorknob started making a weird ringing chime although it was firmly closed. We ignored it for a bit, but the sound came again. And the fourth one came. That was we knew, ok we gotta go.
At the reception, we told him what had happened. He seems to know something, and without asking much, he offered us a room change. (Which we really appreciate!!)
In the second room, we were less spooked. Whilst sleeping just heard occasional footsteps from above us (there was no rooms there), occasional bell sound from outside and someone breathing beside me. I think it was still manageable for me because i was too tired to care 🥲 but my friend was really scared
The toilet door also opened itself whilst i brushed my teeth so uh.. maybe there’s something there that needs to be checked out ;’D
Never coming...

So damn bad, the room is so small for RM 2**, the toilet smell so bad, like literally people pooped in there and kept it for months, so unused, the blankets and sheets were so smelly, it smelt so musty and there were coway at every floor, but no water, we were like bro cmon la, but didn't dare to call the staffs, since we don't want to be called cibai too... Please don't support this people's bussiness, this is horrible! Such a bad behaviour, if you ain't planning to maintain then just close...
