I recently dined at this vegetarian restaurant and had mixed feelings about my experience. While the food was undeniably delicious, the constant marketing push by the service crew left much to be desired.
The moment we placed our order, the service crew began promoting their lucky draw program and urged us to join their WhatsApp group and share photos of the food on Facebook with specific hashtags. Although I understood that it was part of their marketing plan, I felt overwhelmed by the amount of promotion we were expected to participate in.
After our food arrived, we intended to enjoy our meal before sharing photos on Facebook as requested. However, the service crew continuously interrupted us, they hope that we will like and share their Facebook posts for promotional purposes. It was frustrating to be repeatedly reminded about social media obligations while we were eagerly waiting to satisfy our hunger.
Just as we were about to start eating, another service crew member approached us, requesting that we take a photo of our meal before we even had a chance to taste it. They wanted us to write a positive Google review and post the photos there. While I appreciated their enthusiasm, it felt intrusive and disrupted our dining experience.
Once we finally had a chance to enjoy our meal in peace, we were approached again by the service crew to ensure we followed through with the Google review. Their constant presence made it uncomfortable to provide an unbiased review, as it felt as though they were monitoring our actions.
Before we could finish the Google review, yet another service crew member came over, reminding us to fulfill our earlier commitment of sharing the photos on Facebook. The number of reviews and sharing they expected was excessive and took away from the overall dining experience.
Although the food itself was excellent, the excessive emphasis on marketing and the lack of privacy in performing the requested actions dampened the overall enjoyment of the meal. I would suggest the restaurant find a better balance between their marketing efforts and the comfort of...
Read moreI've been looking for meatless dining options in my neighbourhood and was pretty keen to try this place because it has the kinds of food I like to eat. But thanks to the terrible service, I will not be back. The ordering and serving of food itself was not an issue (I was the only customer at the time). But while I was waiting for my dinner, a server came out loudly coughing while walking all over. She wore a face mask... on her neck. It took my making a remark to her colleague to get her to wear it properly. Later while I was eating, I caught her openly staring at me. I finished my meal as soon as I could in order to escape the germ-ridden, awkward space but first I had to pay. I tapped my card on the reader and it took a beat before the transaction went through and instead of waiting, the silly coughing woman grabbed my card to move it closer or whatever and then was offended when I snatched it back. I went to dinner fit as a fiddle and by the time I woke up the next day, I had a cold. You know whom I'm blaming for this. Best part is the restaurant has a big poster talking about how much they care for their customers' wellbeing. LOL. PS: Have we learned nothing at all from the Covid pandemic? Get your hygiene act...
Read moreStaff has serious attitude problem. A staff we encountered today was very very rude. Today’s members day, so there were many people in the restaurant. They treat customers differently!! We followed the steps written for the free dessert program, but encountered issues and not sure if we have already successfully claimed. So we asked the staff, her tone sounds very impatient compared to talking with other customers (maybe because we told them we don’t want to be a member as we don’t usually visit this restaurant). When the other customers reach out for her assistance, she was so happy to help. Very disappointed that they treat members and non-members differently. If you don’t like your customers to claim the free dessert, just stop the program, we are not beggars, we are not deserving this kind of service. Unpleasant dine in experience to be honest. Now what, members have special service? Would not want to visit again! Furthermore, every time we go, the staff can’t wait to collect our plates as soon as our hands get off the plate, crazy. When the restaurant is less crowded, they stare at people, once finished the food, the collect the plates right away, very uncomfortable due to all the starring….Pls get your staffs...
