The museum is located just across the historical Masjid Zahir. The building used to be an Istana for the Kedah royals.
Free admission, and no queue. You also need to remove your footwear before entering.
You are not allowed to take any photographs inside.
Very informative. Texts are written in Malay and English. The aircon makes you momentarily forget about the hot weather outside.
The building itself is old. This adds to the vibe. Floorboards will shake and screech as you walk along the aisle.
I think this is a good starting point to get to know about the Kedah Sultanate, which is one of the oldest existing monarchies.
One of the earliest displays that you will see is the lineage of the current Kedah Sultan that can be traced back to the first Muslim king of Kedah.
