It’s really disappointing to have dine in this cafe after my last visit few years ago. First the order system was bad. When we found a place to sit, there’s no one there to take our orders. So we went to the counter and found out that we need to order there. Fine. We had no choice but to do that. Then after the order they asked about our table number. Now here is the thing… if I ordered there and what if someone took my table. I can’t be at the table and at the counter on the same time. The proper way to order is to ask us to order at the counter the moment the staff see us enter the cafe. After we order, we will be given a standee with number. Even the food we ordered was really not on par comparing with few years back. The pasta that we had were dry and with two pieces of plastic look alike meat. The fries on the chicken chop was not evenly seasoned. The salad was not fresh. The pandan basque cheesecake were so so. The coffee NY cheesecake was too sweet. My husband ordered a glass of iced water at the counter but didn’t deliver. The experience with washroom was the worst during this season. There weren’t too many people in the cafe. It’s so terrible. Terrible with mess around which I was too embarrassed to describe. I wonder how could a PAM winner cafe to have such bad managed washroom. This cafe was one of my favourites when I travelled back to Alor Setar few years ago....
Read moreHaven't visited the cafe for years. It is a great surprise to see the changes, very attempting, classic, traditional, fusion renovation. It is worth to pay a visit to this ex-penjara, ex-opium, ex-trading building in Alor Setar. Every corner is filled with the history of the building. They added three old Perahu Kedah on the ceiling which is very attractive. The Kedah Flying Boats. The stairs to the second floor is very classic and you better watch out of your steps as it is really small. There is a Chinese Room at the second floor which displayed a number of artifacts including the handmade Chinese Lantern, 家和万事兴。 For the food, it is very creative that many types of fusion and strange name items, it is better for you to consult the waiter before place any order. Food quality is average, but the drink is great. They offered a wide variety of drinks, their coffee is great. Since it is always full house, you can just go to visit the Diem Bakery just opposite the road and still can order the same food items. Price is reasonable in par with most Western restaurant in town, some items even cheaper. Parking is a real headache as it located in a busy business district. It is better for you to take a walk where you can find parking space in other...
Read moreHi. I hope you can improve on your customer service! I have a very unpleasant experience while dining at your place today.
Around 5.00pm today, me and my friends went to your place for dine in…We are choosing the pastries at the front cashier and putting all the pastries in our tray.
somehow, when we about to pay at the counter there is one particular chinese lady took all the caneles from my tray as well as my friends without APOLOGISING, claiming that all the canele was already reserved by someone (which we are the one who took the cenele 1st because tat someone was ordered after us only). For me is kinda RUDE for you to go and grab all the pastries TRAY. Practically we all are stood stunned.
I think a little gesture wont hurt her. There is another malay guy did felt sorry for that, but we was expecting her to do that also. And why would you left it with all the pastries together if its already reserved.
I hope this message reach to your staff. Be polite and professional.
I was the birthday gal and the one who regretting to choose to have a early dinner in your place .. Tq for ruined our day.
