I had booked to stay at the Huda Inn from 2nd Feb for 4 nights. I made this reservation on booking.com on 31st Jan and received a confirmation email. ||After travelling all day by bus, boat and taxi (carrying 20kg backpacks) We arrived at Huda Inn at 6pm on the 2nd Feb to check in only to be told they haven't got my booking. ||They then called the boss to come to double check it as they look puzzled at what to do. The boss turned up 5 minutes later and After 30 minutes of waiting around they finally found my booking (I showed them my confirmation also) then they said they haven't got any rooms and said I would have to stay in another hotel down the road!! I wasn't happy but I agreed to this and we stayed in the Cenang Village which they took us to, 2 minutes away.. they said to check out of there at 12 on Friday and come back to check in for the remaining 3 nights in Huda. ||We packed all our stuff up and checked out of the village at 12 and went to Huda and asked if our room was ready.. To then be confronted by blank faces??? They then said we can stay in the Cenang Village hotel for the remainder of our stay and they tried to knock on our room and tell us this morning. No one knocked on our room and after packing all our stuff up and walking back to check in they now haven't got a room again! They then went on to explain that an Expedia booking had come In and that has overridden my booking?? I couldn't quite believe what I was hearing and what was happening?? I booked this 3 days prior to arrival and they have let out our room again for a booking that come in the day before?? We wasn't happy and said we want the room we have paid for..! After having us waiting around again for 45 minutes, (by this point we were not happy) they said they will sort us a room out.! We had had enough and said we would like our money back. They then said they don't have any money here so they will have to wait for the boss.. the staff kept coming in and out of the reception then one guy come back in a car (only young lad) and gave us a refund of RM300. Even though we paid RM400 I think we should have been entitled to a full refund as we didn't get what we paid for!! ||They never apologised once for the inconvenience and made out it was our fault?? ||I then get an email on Saturday from booking.com to say I was a no show? This has then stopped me from writing a review through booking.com. I have sent them a complaint. ||I have the receipt of where I paid RM400 proving I did turn up and was met by the sheer non organisation of this hotel. ||That is what happened to the booking we had booked so in advance. We spoke to a couple outside who had also booked the day before through booking.com and they had been given a room??? ||It's ran by teens and the owner/manager appears when they can't handle the situation. Hard to understand English too. ||We found a room down the road for RM70 per night so worked out well for...
Read moreWe stayed for 3 nights after staying in two previous places in Langkawi. The previous two places had construction going on, so this was sort of our last resort for prices under rm100 per night. We booked for 1 night on Agoda and paid a walk in rate (RM90) for the next two nights. Prices on Agoda was a bit more expensive for the dates we wanted to extend. There were no drilling noise or construction during our stay, which was a huge relief for us. We needed the peace and quiet. It wasn't even busy so no noise from other guests. There's no fridge in the room which was a downside since we like to keep our drinking water cold. There is a kettle, coffee, tea and some cups. AC was OK although took a while to get cold. Wifi was good. Water heater (bathroom) worked fine. Tip: Buy a can of spray for mosquitoes and ants in the room! It's cheap around RM5-6 only from the shops in Cenang. If you want to sit outside, buy mosquito coils. They also have motorbike rental. About 5 minutes walk to the beach. Also close to the Thursday night market. Lots of restaurants nearby...
Read moreThis is a fantastic budget option which we were very pleasantly surprised by. We got a special rate as walk ins (which is always cheaper for here). It is a great location 5 mins walk to beach, shops, restaurants, spas etc. ||Room was spacious, clean to a high standard, nice bed/sheets. Bathroom was small but very clean with nice shower.||Cute little balcony with sunset views. Staff were friendly.||We have stayed in other budget accommodation very close by which was very poor and in comparison this place was amazing! For same price in area gets you a completely different standard.||Only downside was not finding it sooner! (Plus we'd have appreciated some toilet roll but it's not unusual not to be...
