Masjid Selat Melaka Sunset Viewing Point — Attraction in Malacca

Sadly, out of my entire 3 weeks in Malaysia, this mosque was the only place where I felt unwelcome. We came to see the mosque at around 17:00, and were told that we can visit after 17:30. At 18:15, we were told that normally visiting time is 17:30 to 18:30, but today it’s closed early, for no particular reason.

After some discussion, we were told that we could go in for the 10 minutes, but that you have to wear long pants even outside the mosque. Naturally, they have covers for 5RM. We declined, given that we only had 10 minutes, and that clearly we were...

No somos musulmanes pero nos gusta conocer todas sus culturas, sobretodo cua do viajamos. Y esta mezquita habíamos visto era muy bonita y mucha gente la recomendaba. Realmente es preciosa. Debes respetar sus normas y cultura. No llevar ni hombros, ni piernas descubiertas. Las mujeres llevar pañuelo y los hombres no se acepta pantalón corto. Como en toda Asia, los zapatos fuera. La verdad que ojalá en algunos otros países se hiciera lo mismo con los zapatos, ya que es un foco de infección y malas energías.

La mezquita, construida encima del agua, es realmente preciosa. Su interior, en la sala grande de rezo, solo apta para sus séquitos, es muy bonita.

Las vistas desde el exterior son especiales. La verdad que es muy recomendable.
