randomly decided to visit this place cause of the high google rating and WOW this place surely did not dissappoint
All the food we ordered was absolutely affordable and DELICIOUS! the sotong petai was so fresh and the sotong had such a qq texture. the ayam rendang was so lemak and soft it was so good with rice
the chap cai was so so soft and fragrant too. even small things like their rice was cooked with pandan (i think ) the aroma was so nice and wow really enjoyed every moment here
here is the photo post meal, if u see all the food had been DEMOLISHED and the only reason why we didnt ate more was because we wanted to visit the night market after😩
cant recommend this place enough! Really dont understand why this place is so empty on a friday night when it is THIS GOOD
please come down and try this place out. really no regret you will only regret if you dont visit here🤭

Read moreFirst, the good. The sambal belacan prawn and petai and assam fish tasted good and authentic. The ayam pongteh was fine, just too saucy and need a reduction. The fried eggs and kangkung are just run of the mill taste wise. Now what's really not good was their pricing. The portion of food we got doesn't commensurate with the prices charged, in particular the mid section of a slice of siakap fish, which was less than an inch thick and less than a foot long. As a regular eater, other places wouldn't dare to charge anything above RM50 but they did RM78. The medium portion of sambal petai, vege and fried eggs was too small to command such a price but I had no problem with the chicken. I get that tourists pay a somewhat higher price for a local experience but this felt way too predatory on their part.

Food was great, tasty and as authentic as you can get these days. We had a host of delicacies, but standouts were the ayam pongteh, nyonya chap chye, udang lemak nenas and the bendi. The chendol was also very good and true to it's original form - just the strands of pandan chendol WITHOUT the red beans and a very very generous serving of gula melaka. DELICIOUS!
Food here are without frills - just a good old serving of home cooked food. It was indeed a hearty meal. Should put a lot of other peranakan restaurants around in melaka on their toes.
We were engaged politely throughout our meal, which is a welcomed change.
We will definitely return for more when we visit melaka again in the very...
