Mahkota Hotel Melaka — Hotel in Malacca

This hotel although is a 4 star but the room quality and housekeeping service is not worth a single star.

I checked into an apartment unit with 2 toilets. There is no toilet roll in one unit while in the other toilet there is no hand soap. Other toiletries mentioned available in Agoda when the apartment unit is booked are totally not available and have to buy from the minimart located in another block.

The toilet floor of one toilet is uneven such that water is flooded at the entry area.

Asking the housekeeping to provide the necessary toiletries during their working hours would take nearly an hour of waiting plus 3 separate calls before being delivered.

The minibar fridge is totally empty which the items within need to buy from the minimart.

The reception side confirms the unit will be cleaned everyday. I went out in the morning and come back in the late afternoon and the room has not been cleaned. I have to call the reception to inform the housekeeping.

The worst thing is in their advertisement in Agoda states there is Wireless internet service which make people think this is available in every unit but NOPE, it is only available on the ground floor lobby. How inconvenient!

The swimming pool (dolohin pool) water is horrendously murky and dirty. The pool toilet is so poorly ventilated that it emits a stale smell upon entering the place.

The ceiling of the lift lobby serving the apartment units is grossly corroded due to water seepage and the hotel pays no attention in repairing them.

All in all, this hotel looks good at the front but the apartment area and the facilities at the hotel's rear is poorly maintain.

We came to the hotel around 7.30 and it was dark already. We waited for almost 1 hour to check in and we were told that the hotel was full and was given an apartment at the most run down looking building. When we came to the apartment door, the door wouldnt budge to open. We tried several times and it felt like someone was pressing against the door from the inside. The lift area itself felt area. Despite being told the hotel was full, the floor was in complete silence. After trying many times, finally it opened and the furnitures were dusty and kinda damp? Anyway fast forward, around 1 AM after coming back from the city we decided to stay at another hotel because of mixed feelings and my sister getting the feeling like someone is watching her from the back room. When we were packing our stuffs, something strucked my cousin and turns out she was possessed. Around 3 Am, things went wild with her kicking around and screaming at the top of her lungs, my aunt decided to call the manager. He went up after 20 mins with a security guard and saw what happened with his own eyes. We got full reimbursement from the hotel and move out at the first peak of dawn. It happened on the 31st of...

Room was very dirty. Anywhere where a mop couldn't reach was covered with dust and grime. Shelves had little dust, but still very noticeable. Bathroom was horrifying for anyone with any basic standard, the floor caulking and corners were completely black. Almost anything in this place was either broken or in the brink of it. I wouldn't dare go into the cupboards and closet. The only saving grace is the cheap price and spacious room, though the roof looks almost about to collapse. The beds were fine, but a bit too dusty for me, the couches had very noticeable age (leatherette were breaking left and right) and headrests were completely removed. The coffee table given was about to break in half, the stools should've been thrown out ages ago. In short, cheap place in a good location, but terrible place if you have any standards of living.
