My visit to the Perak Museum left me with a mixed bag of impressions. On the positive side, the museum boasts an impressive collection of artifacts that vividly showcase the rich history and cultural heritage of Perak. The exhibits are well-curated, and the chronological layout provides a comprehensive journey through time.
The overall ambiance and infrastructure of the museum could use some improvement. The lighting in certain areas was dim, affecting the visibility of some exhibits. Additionally, a few interactive displays seemed outdated and in need of maintenance. A bit more attention to the upkeep and modernization of these elements would undoubtedly enhance the visitor experience.
Another area that left me wanting more was the lack of detailed information accompanying certain exhibits. While some displays were rich in context, others left me wishing for more in-depth explanations.
In conclusion, the Perak Museum offers a glimpse into the region's fascinating history but falls short in terms of maintaining a consistently high standard across all aspects of the visitor experience. With a bit of refurbishment and attention to detail, this could easily become a top-notch attraction...
Read moreThe state of Perak has several museums, including one just outside of the Old Town of Taiping. Apparently it was the first Museum established in the whole of Malaysia, dating back to the 19th century.
Outside there’s a random assortment of historical bits and bobs from dugout canoes to an old railway carriage and coolest of all a F-86 Sabre formerly in service with the Royal Malaysian Air Force. The Avon Sabre RMAF F-86 Jet is an Australian-made single seat fighter-bomber, displayed at Perak Museum in Taiping was donated to the RMAF in 1969. In 1969 Australia announced that in was to donate 18 refurbished ex-RAAF Sabre jets to Malaysia
Inside there’s a small but well done natural history section, complete with skeletons of a tiger and an Asian elephant. It covers a lot of the native animals of the region with skeletons or stuffed specimens in a kid friendly way. To the rear of that is a section on the people of Perak and their traditions.
The museum is located about a kilometre from the centre of town on the Jalan Taming Sari, opposite of...

Even from outside without any payment, there are quite alot to see and of course old antique cars like Rolls-Royce are there too.
From the paid entrance, there will be different types of keris being displayed, then the next room would be animal artifacts on the 1st floor while second floor would be more on items from different culture and ocassion from different era and time zone.
Overall is not too bad, but during my walkthrough in the real animal artifacts, I do feel an eerie feeling as my 'energy' might not be that strong hence I tried not to stay there for too long, this may not be applicable to all individual so just sharing my experience ;)
Recommended for sure! I only take and post pictures that intrigue my interest and the limit of 50 pictures hence it doesn't show any of the things that are supposed to be in there especially on...
