Redang Holiday Beach Resort — Attraction in Pulau Redang

The worse resort I have ever been!! Went there with another family friend so we took 2 standard rooms for 4D3N. We arrived and checked in to the room, to our shock both bed sheets had stains all over. Toilet was extremely dirty in both the rooms. We complained to the reception and requested to clean. After 1 hour wait they cleaned the rooms and changed the bed sheets.Before I booked this place, I checked with them if housekeeping is available daily and they said yes…but the next day they did not clean the rooms. When checked with reception and the lady who promised that housekeeping is available daily, they denied and said housekeeping is only done once throughout the stay. We tolerated !!! Snorkeling trips were very basic.. boatman was just doing his routine stuff, not more not less.. Majority staffs can’t speak Malay or English. Mostly are foreigners and cannot comprehend our requests especially those at the Bistro. But all these were tolerable to us u til the next day !!! The worse day. Went to have dinner at their buffet. Chicken chop was served. As we started eating, another guest who was dining at the next table walked to the FNB staff, looked like they were complaining about something. I too walked to check what was going on.. to my shock, their chicken chop which was taken from the buffet had so many maggots inside the chicken flesh.. We complained to the FNB manager, they took the tray of chicken inside and bring back the same tray to serve it in the buffet again. Unbelievable!! I walked to them and questioned, then they removed the chicken again.. There was no action taken, no apologies made to any of the guest who was watching the awful scene. We checked out the next day and left. Check out was another frustrating episode. They asked us to wait at the lobby for the boat transport at 10.15am but they only arrived at 11.30am to pick us to the jetty. There is no importance given to cleanliness especially for food. Flies all over the food in the buffet: No one knows what is “Customer Service”. No one in this resort gives importance to customer. The “not bothered” and “laid back attitude” is seen in everyone including the resort Manager. Will never ever come back to this resort nor recommend anyone to come here. Nevertheless, we will definitely come back to Redang Island for many more vacation as the beach is amazingly beautiful with crystal clear beaches. Mother Nature had given her best in this island. My friends and I took a tour package for a 3D2N in Redang. The package includes return jetty trip from Merang, Terengganu to the hotel, full 4 meals and 3 snorkeling trips. As for the hotel review, the hotel is located at the other side from the jetty that we came from. Once arrived at the jetty we will need to ride on a carriage powered by a tractor to our hotel which took around 10 minutes. The check in was smooth and I was informed the hotel rooms have been upgraded. All the rooms now are overlooking a swimming pool and if you are expecting to see the beach or even hear the sound of waves from your room than you are in a different hotel. The hotel is situated at the far end of the beach and the only visible beach is from their dining hall. The rooms are behind a hill as compared to every other hotels in that area are all facing the sea. |The hotels is a 3 storey building with 2 queen beds, no TV, no refrigerator, no water bottles (they provide free flow cold cordial and plain water at the dining hall though). They do provide kettles and tooth brush in the toilet. The hot water and air cond work just fine.|The food were mediocre, more like instant to me. Most of the workers are from Sabah or from other nationalities but they are warm and friendly. If you are expecting a BBQ or more than that that you must be in a different hotel again. Nonetheless, next to the dining hall is a paid restaurant offering you western food such as pizza or pasta and the price is reasonable.|Even though this hotel rooms do not face the sea but it offer a fantastic view from the small hill within the hotel. This in itself very much picture worthy. The beach is also very beautiful as no boat enters its shores which makes it very safe to swim and less crowded. The hotel also provide swimming gear which look quite new with minimal rental fee.|All in all it is not a bad hotel considering but please be extra care for your belonging in the room because there are lot of monkeys nearby which might snatch...

Overall 6/10 Toilet is soo ugh. I dont like it, i would find myself holding my bladder because i dont want to go inside the toilet. So smelly , even before we even use it for the first time. Its smelly and the lights is so dim !

But okay I guess, they gave u soap. Yeah soap only and no shampoo. No toiletries! So makesure to bring ur own.. and also no place to cook ur water, only source for hot water is the canteen, quite far and ik ppl are lazy to go down there just to cook their instant ramen like me.. but i think there's no time to cook instant ramen because we ate 4times a day, so full already 😂 But room smells nice and the aircond is cold so its okay! And the room kinda big because i went there with 3 person only.

The floors, NO. Its so sticky because of the sand. But what can you expect? Its a beach hotel lmao. Quite unhygienic because im disgusted by the floors

Enough of cons, lets talk about good things.

Food was good !!!!!!!!!! Its malaysian food. But lack of coconut milk (santan) in their desserts. But overall its good, my fav is tomyam and roti canai. Cups sometimes little bit smelly and cold water , not so cold more to room temperature 🤒

Staff was nice . Especially that one friendly uncle whos everywhere 😂😂

The beach is so near from the rooms, so easy to go and the pool is literally infront of our rooms, so convenient and easy.

The view from the beach is SO NICE . You can even snorkel there (especially near the rocks, but be careful) THERE'S ALOT OF FISH!! big one and even the small one. No need to go snorkel far away😂😂

Snorkeling trip was good, but the 1st trip is EMPTY. No corals, no fish. But the third and second is very beautiful!!!!

And no shame to those who can't swim, you can see almost everyone wearing lifejacket at the beach😂😂 its very nice and the snorkel goggles have a power for those whos rabun (short/long slightness)

Would not come here...
