Redang Beach Resort — Hotel in Pulau Redang

Redang Beach Resort 4d3n, a group of 8 families with total 29 peoples, from jetty Shahbandar and heading to Redang Island. This is our first visit to this beautiful island & question popup in my mind; there is no jetty & how to reach resort 🤔

Well, experience is much better than hearsays 🙂 Ferry will stop at sea about 600-700 meters from shorelines. Then two special build with propeller barges will come & alongside at ferry starboard and portside to transfer passengers from ferry onto barges, then move to shore.

After all passengers boarded barges, ship crews will then shift all luggages to barge. If you look at photo attached, you might think they throw your luggages like garbages 😄 No worries, ship crews handle it with Care. Due to ferry stability and time is running, the crews have to move fast. Thus, all luggages will not properly put. I strongly suggest backpack to go places like this and you can carry your belongings at all times 😉

Once reached beach, all resort reps are standby to welcome and fetch you to their resort respectively. Redang Beach Resort is the most convenient as reception counter about 70-80 steps away. While waiting for check-in, tourist can take the first photo in Redang Island 😁

Tourists can proceed to steps away restaurant for lunch, tourist are split two groups and taking meals at two different restaurants i.e. old town and new town, buffet style and same menu, it is not how much you can eat but how much your tummy can take 😂 Meals are include breakfast, lunch, afternoon hi-tea and dinner. During lunchtime, these restaurants are crowded but my suggestion is take your meal at least an hour after the crowd, then you can "peacefully" enjoy your meal 😅

Two storey hotel rooms, max occupants 5 adults with extra bed. Equipped with basic needs, safe deposit in every room to safe keep your value items. No TV but who wants to watch TV during vacation in island !?

Snorkeling activities is a daily activity arranged by resort, morning trip to marine park while second trip to deep sea snorkeling site in the afternoon. Be careful while snorkeling at marine park, many sharp rocks underneath & easily hurt your leg if you can't control your swim. All tourist required to rent life jacket, unless you bring along your snorkeling gear i.e. mask & snorkel, then you have to rent from Redang dive center.

I brought my own gears including fins. Fins can be used in deep sea & shore snorkeling except marine park to avoid fins damage the corals. If you are diver like me, then you can find many beutiful dive sites around this island. I did my best dive in Redang with 21.1m depth 😜 too deep for an open water diver 🤫 If you willing to spend more, book a tourist boat and go to see and swim with sea turtles. We've rented a tourist boat with $600 per boat trip and departed at 1700hrs.

After dinner, you can take a beach walk to nearby resorts, do shopping, have your favourite drinks and listen to live band or loud music 🙉 depends on your mood 😁 Basically Redang Beach Resort has nights with live band and nights playing with loud music. Laguna Resort live band plays slow music both Chinese and English. Redang Bay Resort mixture of slow & rock songs and also late night disco music. My advice is don't stay inside hotel room and waste your time with smart phone. Go out & enjoy 🍺🍾🍿🍰🍧🥂🍹

Redang Beach Resort has in-house dive center. I took 5 boat dives package under resort arrangement, hassles free with reasonable price. My dive guard Joe, taking care my son, guarding us while I can relax and enjoy my every dive to the fullest. Big 🦈, big sand-ray, big & small sea turtles and many other sealife 👍👍

The booking process was very pleasant and smooth. Ice (my booking agent) answered my questions and enquiries very prompt and is really helpful. ||Facilities: Great|Stayed there for 3 days 2 nights for 3 rooms. The room was a bit small for 4 people considering only standard room was available at the time of booking. Since we’re still in the midst of covid, there’s no buffet style. They have many staffs there and will deliver the food to your table. Can also request for more food if not enough. ||Activities: Disappointed|Since i book the snorkelling package, we should have a great snorkelling experience of our lives. Instead, here’s what happen. We get 3 times snorkelling. The first one is the evening of our first day. We were told during chack-in it was cancelled due to poor weather. Ok that is acceptable since we see it for ourselves that the wind and waves are really strong. So we decided to snorkel at the beach instead. Because it was cancelled, the beach was crowded with people. ||The second snorkelling was in the morning of the second day. I was legit surprised that we only went to one checkpoint only. ONE CHECKPOINT! And that is to see fish only. Since i booked the snorkelling package i thought that at least we will have like 4-5 snorkelling point (like other islands). But NO. I know this because i am from Terengganu and have been to other islands in Terengganu. ||My brother asked the staff at the snorkelling centre if our third snorkelling point would be at turtle or shark point. TO MY SURPRISE he said we need to PAY EXTRA TO SEE THE TURTLE! Which is RM40/pax. Plus he said that after this we still don’t know which point we will go. WHAT KIND OF AN ANSWER IS THAT? And plus we also paid for the Marine Park (closed), but cannot refund coz they said that this whole island is the Marine Park. You expect people to believe that? ||Because my family and i were so disappointed and so mad, we did not put our hopes high for the evening snorkelling. Hence we find other boat services (Aurora boat service guided by Azmi) coz we really wanted to see the turtles and go to the famous sandbar. That evening came and LO AND BEHOLD the resort staff informed us LAST MINUTE that the snorkelling IS CANCELLED ONCE AGAIN!!! He said that the weather is bad and all the other resort also cancelled. Since we have to board the Aurora Boat at the long beach (the other side) and GUESS WHAT HAPPEN? We saw many people from Sari Pacifica came down and board the boat ready for snorkelling. WHAT THE H* is this? When we talked to the other boat man who was at the same snorkelling point as us, he said that they cannot simply cancel the snorkelling trip. If one resort is cancelled then, every resort on that island should be cancelled as well due to bad weather. |After we got back, we saw people from our resort ready to go snorkelling (because they paid the RM40 for the turtle point). What happen to that guy’s word about snorkelling is cancelled coz the weather is bad??? So if you pay extra, then the snorkelling trip is not cancelled? That is the shitiest story you guys have come up. I know the resort is trying to recover from the covid thing coz you guys can’t operate but ripping people’s money off? ||I actually feel sorry for people who travelled so far just to experience the beauty of the sea and was greatly disappointed by this resort.||In conclusion, stay here if you don’t mind getting...

Overall I will rate this place a 3.5 - 4 star, because they upgraded us to a better room, however the shower is inconvenient, would appreciate it if it is a water pump with heat adjustments and not the usual European left right cold hot mix tab. Hated that lol

Bidet provided, which is not bad, bed is clean, and room is quite spacious, but its not really sound proof lol, theres a big gap under all the rooms, and roaches came into our room, I don’t mind but my gf is afraid of that lols.

And the food hmmm, not much selections tbh, I rmb the last time i visit redang pelangi that was better, first day noon in redang beach, spaghetti and some small treats less than 5 selections if not mistaken, but dinner was ok, more selections with lamb steak and satay bbq but its hot af, luckily the workers helped us to cook the lamb chop coz we got no idea if its cooked or not lol.

Breakfast was okay… another good thing is that they will always have soups/dessets, red beans, 莲藕、西洋菜 or porridge, so thats a plus for me cause I love soupsss. Tbh I feel the eating time is abit rush no? Around 1 & half hour if not mistaken or 2…

Should have make it longer, what if I don’t feel like joining the snorkeling, I just wanna eat? Maybe can improve on this. Drinks selections… erm coffee, tea and orange juice only lols, idk.

We go to Laguna to order drinks and snacks. Redang beach at night is very quiet i would say coz there are no events or bands singing at least for my stay, others idk. But Laguna have it daily except Thursday so thats another minus.

Snorkelling trips are good, but I heard you would need to pay extra for Turtle experience 🫠 which was free previously when Im with Redang Pelangi, idk if its an entire island thing now or its just Redang Beach charging that.

Marine park is kindda crap lol imo, idk its kindda dirty and lot of trash and the fishes are ok… no sea cucumber no nemo no turtles. Anyway I love the snorkelling workers they are sooooo helpful, they helped my gf to breakthrough the fear of snorkelling 🤿 and they give us a mask rubberband cause my gf broke hers lul.

We only rented the life jacket cause we bought our own snorkelling mask. There 3 included trips but we joined only two trips cause its very hot at 2:30pm lol and there’s no turtles so we just slept thru the one hour smtg, and walk around the beaches, very chill place for a quick get away.

Wifi… the best part, no wifi provided other than lobby area, best part was, I didnt even get the chance to use the wifi hahahah, signal in rooms are kindda bad but still better than Redang Pelangi, that was awful lol cant load anythinggggggg.

Bus driver was also great, they know our flight was 6:30pm they sent us to China Town Terrenganu for a quick lunch and walk around then only came back and pick up us to airport, what a cool arrangement! Love it.

Take my advice, take the plan, get the bus/car from the hotel, make life so much easier. Last time I drove here, it was hell of a ride lolll hahahah but if you have a lot of people driving is ok, and you can bring a lot of stuff like canned beer or personal stove to cook, if youre taking plane then bye bye to...
