We went to Redang with the whole family, and chose Paradise Resort to stay because we were with ten people and you could easily divide this number in the two cabins. There were also very nice pictures of the cabins from the outside, but we could not find any pictures of the inside of the cabins. So we went from Kuala Lumpur to Redang, and have done about 6 hours to get there. We were very excited when we saw the island, but less enthusiastic when we arrived at the Resort. The houses were much smaller than the pictures we had seen and there was no place for a table and chairs. The bathroom was no more than a toilet and a moldy shower head that was hanging above. The fungus smelled awful and you could smell smoke everywhere in the hovel as the door was just open. The houses were very small and there was only place for beds. On the ground floor was one double bed and one single bed, but to ensure that 5 people could sleep in one house, the cottage into two "floors" were distributed. There was confirmed a wooden plate with beams on the walls. There pastten just two mattresses, and you had to come up with a very narrow steep ladder, so where could fall from. We thought it to find the next day something else, because we do not want to keep our entire vacation. But we did have to wait a day. That night my wife went to the (already filthy) toilet. Because we slept upstairs, she had to leave the narrow rickety stairs. This proved to be very dangerous, because they fell off and had to be immediately taken to hospital. She got a heavy concussion on and a few bruised ribs. There was a sign next to the stairs which was that you had to be careful with the stairs, but if you go at night to the toilet should you do not have much of that. Due to all the stress we could not sleep that night and so we were very late for breakfast that was required. It cost 20RM per person (about 4 euros), which the day before had been paid. When we asked for breakfast turned out we were 20 minutes late and they could do nothing for us. Only when we were very upset because we did not eat and go back a long way, we could bet speak to the manager who personally made breakfast for us. Our whole holiday was a night on the island, and the day after again six hours traveling back to Kuala Lumpur.
But we have...
Read moreVery bad experience, Especially the so called owner Mr Daniel he called himself. First, after we arrived and checked in, we need to pay extra head fees although we said we would all just stay in one room. However my frens able to fnd a room at Redang Lagoon with same room type with just Rm500 plus for 2 nites by room not per head. There are 4 of them. We agreed to pay the extra head fees then Mr.Daniel said sorry due to insurance issues one room cant fit so many person even if u pay extra head fees, need to book another room. Then told us no more room to book after we argued about the fees. We went happily but stayed there with unhappy feelings. They will keep on asking u to pay extra charges. In the end, we might end up paying another 2k more if my frens book here. We paid 1.5-1.6k for the same room we cn get at Redang Lagoon. Almost 1k more. My frens stayed there for only Rm500+. No buffet meal, whatever they gave u for breakfast u just eat. All my kids wont be able to eat. Some might be spicy. No choices. And tasted moderate only. Coffee and milo not hot enough and tasted bland. The owner Mr Daniel keep on asking us to go to neighbours to have meals for lunch and dinner. No swimming pool although they said they are rated 3 stars hotel. Many rooms keep on repairing on our staying days so much noices in the morning. The rooms are quite old and need to upgrade. Please rethink before booking. This would be the 1st and last time we stay at this ‘paradise’ resort. We booked wrongly as we thought this is Redang Holiday which we stayed last time. Good luck to them and you all as future customers. If i’m able to post the picture of the owner i will post it here too. Remember guys, Mr.Daniel a chinese man, the proud so called owner of this...
