I am a resident of Shah Alam for the past 5 years and had frequented the lake in Seksyen 14 for the past 4 years and upon seeing the pictures of the Garden had somehow assumed (and confidently so) thought that the park was in that exact spot (near the PKNS building which had underwent an extensive remake-over thingy for the past 1 year) and only to be in utter dismay that it was actually not and sadly noticing that there is no proper signage to guide the visitors (imagine if there are visitors coming from far and not being guided is kinda disastrous; especially those who are non-residents) to the said park. So we were left wandering and having to ask from passersby which Alhamdulillah did eventually guided us to the correct spot. OMG it was on the OTHER side of the lake !! but thankfully all the walking was so worth it! It was a Sunday evening around 7pm and it was very packed so yes i didn't quite enjoy it. But i must say that I am totally in love with the bubbling koi pond (it was not bubbling due to some geothermic activity so yes the kois are safe) and the selection of plants are lovely :) ! I hope that i can come again when it's far less crowded so that i can really enjoy its tranquility:) some areas of the lake pond are kinda stagnant but overall it was a lovely experience:) Tips: park your car near the Dataran Shah Alam thingy (Padang A) and do come around sunset time on weekdays! Bring some ACTUAL koi feeds (NOT ROTI okay for God's sake!) and keep it...
Read moreTaman Persahabatan Selangor Jepun, located in the heart of Selangor, is a beautiful park that offers a peaceful and picturesque environment. Inspired by Japanese garden aesthetics, the park features well-maintained landscapes, tranquil water features, and a variety of plant species that evoke the essence of Japanese culture. Visitors can enjoy a serene stroll along the walking paths, surrounded by lush greenery and koi-filled ponds.
One of the main attractions of this park is its authenticity in capturing the charm of Japanese garden design. The careful arrangement of rocks, bonsai trees, and traditional Japanese structures creates an immersive experience. The park also includes areas for relaxation and reflection, making it a great spot for those seeking a moment of calm away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
While the park is relatively small, it is meticulously maintained, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal place for photography, meditation, or a leisurely walk. However, the limited space might not offer extensive facilities or activities, so visitors looking for more dynamic attractions might find it less exciting.
Overall, Taman Persahabatan Selangor Jepun is a hidden gem that offers a unique blend of Japanese culture and nature, perfect for those looking to unwind and enjoy a tranquil day out.
We are here taking a photo shoot for Hari raya eve. That all.

Read moreI would like to raise a complaint regarding a film shooting that took place at the park on 12th July 2025 (weekend). It was very disappointing to see that more than half of the park was taken over by the film crew, and the public was not allowed to pass through, enter, or use those areas — even though this is supposed to be a public open space.
To make things worse, visitors who had parked their cars in the open parking area were asked to move their vehicles by the crew — despite it being a public facility. This is extremely unfair to regular park-goers who bring their families to relax, play, and spend quality time together — especially on weekends.
I urge the park management or owner to reconsider approving large-scale filming activities in public parks, especially during peak times like weekends. If filming must be done, it would be more reasonable to schedule such activities on weekdays, when the park is less crowded. This ensures that the rights of regular visitors are respected, and everyone can enjoy the space peacefully.
A public park should remain accessible to all — not controlled or blocked off by...
