We went to Kak Ani's Shellrock restaurant, which is near the lake for berbuka puasa. Judging by the tables reserved, I believed this was a good place to have your seafood fix. There were many tables, a surau, and great choices of food. We had the Set B for our berbuka. It came with 4 packs of rice, siakap tiga rasa (oh, we also got extra fish, courtesy of the restaurant owner) grilled lamb, roti john, a jug of syrup drink, fruit platter and the seafood - cockles, razor clams, mussels, crab, prawns and squid. Overall, the food was okay, but a gentle warning though: if you're not a big fan of spicy, chilli red food, be wary of the side effects. I had my fair share of this - bad case of tummy ache. Anyway, aside from my personal issue, the overall ambience, food and services were good. The owner of the restaurant, who happened to be a friend of my friend, came by our table a few times. Read moreImpressed at how big this place is. Overall this is a great place to hangout, be outside, and just enjoy nature in the middle of the city. Saw few activities offered here. Fly fox (pretty cheap), kayak, and paddle boat. Kids can play at the playground while parents enjoy outside air and scenery. Looks like a nice place to jog and brisk walking too. Even though I didn't see a lot of trash can. But the amount of trash is minimal. They should really put more those recycle trash can since this place have people selling food. Talking about selling food, wish they sell healthier food here to promote healthy living. Place full of kids which should be taught about healthy lifestyle. 4 Star due to Oh My English. Better place to be than malls. Not a lot of wind here and could be sunny, so bring hat and fan...

I told my children two things the night before the day's agenda - first, taking Hadif, my 44-day-old grandson out and about and secondly, celebrating my other 4-year-old grandson, Akalil's birthday. It'd be swell going for a family picnic at some place quiet, uncluttered.
Permai Recreational Park is a park where young and old can enjoy. Bring your home cooked food and ice-cool drinks, and voila! you're good to go. My wife reminded me to bring along mats, serviettes and wet tissues, sun block lotions and the list just got long.
Hadif arrived late with his parents. But two other grandsons had a whale of time, basking in the sun. And I hid myself under the shadows, as the heat was pricking hot. Alas, we...
