I had the pleasure of having Rowin’s as our guide on this hike and I can’t recommend him and the experience highly enough. From start to finish, Rowin demonstrated a deep knowledge of the local area — not just the trails, but also the rich history and unique vegetation that make the region so special. He had fascinating stories about historical landmarks and was able to educate us on the local plants and vegetation, sharing insights that added real depth to the experience.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a sunset kayak tour down the Black River in Tamarin Bay, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The serene beauty of the river at dusk was absolutely breathtaking, and we were lucky to have a front-row seat to nature's stunning display.

One of the highlights of our trip was the incredible wildlife we encountered. We saw playful monkeys swinging through the trees and a wide variety of beautiful bird species that added to the rich tapestry of the surroundings. It felt like we were in a real-life nature documentary!

Sunrise Kayaking trip to Crystal Rock and l'Ile Bénetiers with Yan.

During our holiday in Mauritius in August 2024 we had an absolutely amazing kayaking trip to l‘Ile aux Bénitiers with our tour guide Yan. Watching the sunrise behind the Le Morne mountain range was incredible, so getting up early was well-worth it (as the tour starts at 6:50am).

Yan was a super-friendly and knowledgeable guide (and a good photographer as well). He also found an excellent mixture between interacting with us and also giving us some privacy to enjoy the spectacular views.

Kayaking was done at a good pace also suitable for beginners. The overall trip was about 6km so if you don’t go kayaking regularly (like us), you will also get some sore muscles as a free souvenir for the next day. ;)

We definitely recommend this tour to anyone, especially if you’re looking to avoid masses of fellow tourists and want to feel like you have the lagoon with its crystal clear water to your own.

When we went there there was nobody else in the bay except for the sea cucumbers. :)
