Ben Whale Safari — Attraction in Grande Rivière Noire

We had an amazing shared group whale swimming tour experience with Ben and his team! 😍 I came across Ben on Instagram and contacted him a few weeks before our trip via WhatsApp. He always responded very quickly, so making the reservation was easy and fast. When we arrived at the location, Ben was there to welcome everyone. He started with a short presentation (at the beach) and gave clear instructions about the sperm whales and how to swim with them. Even though we already knew most of it, I really loved that part—it showed Ben’s passion and love for the ocean and its animals! 🩵🐳 (Most tours didn’t even explain what we were going to do, so big + for Ben!) Ben used a hydrophone to locate the sperm whales, and his team was very friendly and caring. The swim experience was fantastic, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book another shared group whale swimming tour with Ben and his team! 😍 P.S. A few days later, we did another whale swim tour with a different operator, and we ran into Ben in the water. He filmed my wife and made some visuals from his boat. An Unforgettable Experience with Ben Whale Safari – Highly Recommended!

I was able to arrange everything with Ben before my trip to Mauritius, and I ended up booking a boat tour for myself and nine others. We set off at 11 AM, and as soon as we left, Ben gave us a detailed briefing on what we could expect to see. He made it very clear how important it is to respect the animals’ habitat and how to behave responsibly in the water.

After about two hours of sailing northwest, we were lucky enough to encounter sperm whales. Despite the rough seas, we had multiple opportunities to swim with these magnificent creatures—an absolutely spectacular experience! On the way back, we stopped for some snacks and hydration, all while taking in the breathtaking beauty of the island’s coastline.

Ben is the perfect guide for this kind of adventure—not only because of his deep respect for marine life and nature but also because of his incredible expertise. He moves through the water like a true fish—it’s amazing to watch!

Without a doubt, I highly recommend Ben Whale Safari. If I ever return to Mauritius, I’ll be booking another trip with him without hesitation.

From start to finish, the experience was unforgettable. Ben was incredibly friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable—he shared fascinating insights about whales that made the trip both educational and exciting.

We were lucky enough to see sperm whales multiple times, both solo and in families. It was truly breathtaking to witness these majestic creatures up close.

The boat captain was highly skilled, expertly navigating us to the perfect spots to find whales. The day didn’t end there, though! We concluded the trip with an incredible snorkeling experience with turtles. To top it all off, we were treated to a delicious platter of fresh fruit and cake—such a thoughtful and delightful touch.
