Le Kiosk - Ruisseau Creole — Restaurant in Grande Rivière Noire

Lunch on a Sunday. Atmospherics: It wasn't too crowded. A pleasant and attractive place.

Service: Horrible service. Waiters stared at us as we took our place without offering any assistance. We had to ask for our menus. The waiter taking our order seemed inexperienced and made several mistakes while noting our order. After what seemed a lengthy order-taking process, he still ordered the wrong meals. Our waiter seemed more interested in his phone rather than serving us etc. Hopefully another waitress stepped up for him and rectified many of his mistakes.

Food & Drinks: Almost all the mocktails/smoothies/mixed juice etc were delicious. Non veg starters (chicken lollipops & calamari rings) were succulent whereas veg ones were uncooked. The marlin and veg salads were also good and my main dish which was grilled chicken with mushroom sauce was good too. The person who had the vegetarian burger deemed it uneatable and barely had 3 bites of it.

Others: It was a shame that our order was wrongly placed by the initial waiter. This resulted in us (4 persons) having our lunch at different times and while some were eating others were still waiting. Between forgetting one person's main dish order and wrongly ordering my meal (fried batter chicken without sauce instead of the grilled chicken menu), it seemed a bit too much. The waiting time for a molten lava cake being 20mins also seemed highly excessive specially after spending nearly 3hrs waiting for 4 starters and 4 main dishes.

Price & impression: $$$$ The price is a bit on the high side judging how disappointing some of the dishes were. However this could have been overlooked had the service been, not even great but, at least adequate and satisfactory. A no-go-again for me, at least not...

We usually enjoy coming to this restaurant because the food is always great, and the staff are typically friendly and attentive. However, today's visit was quite disappointing. Despite there being four waitresses on duty, the service was very slow. There was no greeting when they approached to take our order, and when they placed the plates and glasses down, it was done abruptly, almost as if they were slamming them down. They leaned over us without any regard for personal space. One waitress, while clearing our table, had her elbows right in my face. I politely asked her to be more mindful, but instead of apologizing, she went to the other waitresses, and they began mocking us openly. After that, they stood chatting amongst themselves and ignored our attempts to get their attention. I went to ask for the manager, only to be told that he was sitting in his car. We waited around, hoping he would come out, but he never did. In my opinion, this behavior reflects a lack of proper training, a clear example of poor customer service, and a lack of management. The fact that the manager was sitting in his car rather than addressing the situation is just unacceptable. This was a really unfortunate experience, and I hope management takes note and improves both service and staff attitude. The food is too good to be let down by...

We loved this place. My husband and I were looking for something different and fell in love with Tamarin. This is the perfect place for a quick bite. Our son was famished and his food arrived in less than 5 mins (they made it a priority as they hate seeing kids go hungry). I had the grilled fish and I would probably recommend tuna as opposed to what I had. My husband had the beef baguette and it was yummy... He wants to go back a few more times just to have it again...prices are quite reasonable as well. And needless to say the staff was awesome. A wonderful...
