Don’t be fooled, this place is full of corrupt policemen, thugs looking for victims to rob, and the place smells like sewage. There are rats the size of cats on the beach at night time because of all the food those establishments are selling there, witch by the way don’t ever buy sea food there because you will get food poisoning. I cant express enough how careless people are on the road driving, the road is too dangerous to be driving with all the pot holes and crazy drivers. The police is the biggest concern, they will beat you and rob you and the first thing they will ask is what you do for a living. They want to have an idea on how much money you have incase they find something they can get you for. And if they find the smallest detail they will immediately threaten you with taking you car away. And once they take the car they will steal car parts and personal belongings at the car lot. There is no justice there. Omg, i cant...

The malecon by the border is great. Very interesting place. I call it “so near but so far”. It is just fascinating to see the border between USA and Mexico. And adding the Pacific Ocean to it makes it even better. It is very interesting to see the border wall extend to the ocean and so many question start getting in your head. We went during day time and it was completely safe. There is parking available near by.

The walking malecon is safe and there are vendors in the way that make it even better if you want to tryout...

This is a place I always wanted to visit. This was fun!!! There are street performers take cash and change. They deserve it. Plus you will want a bit if everything. There is food, drinks, people selling souvenirs. I had a band sing for me. I had me two margaritas. My daughter bought a crepe. Then the views of San Diego far away at the other end of the fence or "wall" Everything is super cheap. This was a highlight on my trip. I bought that Sombrero on the picture in my profile.

its a fun tourist hangout. a lot of art and plenty of things to do drink, eat and shopping. A walk down the beach, sit at a bar , have artisan ice-cream or coconut water. Sundays are very crowded and normally has a mariachi band playing on the beach. Great sunsets. The best part is you can see right through the wall to the USA. Its a little reminder that we live in countries with borders to protect what's inside and save it from the outside.
