I went with my Mexican friends from Mexico City on the all inclusive trip via Jose Cuervo Express, we stayed at the Westin, which is gorgeous in Guadalajara, took a taxi to the train site, we had a wonderful time on board, the scenery through the windows beautiful, full of the mountain range, and agave plants, while we enjoyed wonderful margaritas and appetizers..When we arrived at the lovelyl Jose Cuervo Estate we toured the plant that makes the tequila which was very informative. We went then to another building where we could have more appetizers and margaritas if we so wished...then we went outside to enjoy the music, the trick horse riding, rope tricks and people with trays of margaritas mingled with the visitors to give you a margarita, if you so wished...later we went inside where we could purchase tequila..When it was time to eat,the gourmet buffet room was huge with any kind of food, breads, desserts you could wish. I certainly enjoyed the Cerviche, the lamb, beef and chicken....which I took out to the terrace , joining my friends...as we ate we enjoyed the dancers in costume and the musicans...We also went downstairs and listened to the explanation of the various Jose Cuervo tequilas...I bought the Platina Reserva de la Familia and the Platina Blanco very, very good tasting...All in all I can say it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend anyone who likes tequila to go on the Jose Cuervo Express trip. I was not a Jose Cuervo tequila fan, but after going there and tasting their...

Brilliant! 100% don't miss!! So many sites on the internet say this place is only open certain days. If the review you read is more than 5 minutes old l, forget it. This town is evolving and distilleries like this are pretty much open everyday. Just show up and ask for a tour. I have been to Mexico about 20 times and my favorite thing is to visit small unique towns. Tequila is an incredible place if you want authentic Mexican culture, food, kind people, and good vibes. But this town has one extra thing, tequila!!! La Rojeña is where the José Cuervo magic happens. The tour is completely informative, explaining the tequila making process in detail, and at the end (if you pay the extra pesos for the tasting package, a MUST in my opinion) you get a view into tequila flavors and nuance that I never knew existed! Trust me, stop reading this review and just go there! The tasting at the end is amazing!

It was absolutely brilliant! Our guide (sorry, can't remember her name) was perfect. At each stop, though the factory is loud, she had a mic connected to Bose speakers so you could hear every word (I did the English speaking tour).

At the end you can buy special made tequilas at factory prices. Absolutely no pressure to buy, but a good deal all the same!

I am fairly cynical when it comes to touristy things, this is a 100%...

My girlfriend and I celebrated our anniversary by purchasing the Premium Plus tickets which were about $120 each. You can choose from the sunrise or sunset experience. In the sunrise, you ride the train into Pueblo Mágico and come back in bus. In the sunset, you ride the bus into the Pueblo Mágico and return by train. I strongly recommend doing the sunrise tour.

In the train, you are giving a tequila tasting activity. You have access to unlimited drinks which are corteusly served by the waiters. In the town, you are given a tour of the tequila factory and are then given 2 hours leisure time to explore the town. The town is filled with vendors who are selling artisan works so bring plenty of cash if you want to go back with souvenirs.

After you roam the town, you go back to the Jose Cuervo forum where you are treated by a magnificent Mexican show filled with Mariachi and baile folklórico. During the show, you have access to the bar which serves you unlimited drinks. After, you are shuttled by bus to the agave fields. You are accompanied by a waiter that serves you drinks on your ride to the agave fields and back home. You are pretty much served tequila at every opportunity possible, it was awesome and well...

We took the dawn train experience and tbh is the one I recommend, you get amazing views from Guadalajara to Tequila perfect for photos. My family and I booked the premium plus experience and it was worth every cent. The tequila educational tasting you have on the train is really nice. What we enjoyed is that as soon as the train starts rolling you get cocktails and drinks of your choice. Food was served during the trip and the tamales and the guisados were delicious and of good amount for the 5 of us. The visit to Jose Cuervo house is really nice and unlike with other tours you get to go to the Family special reserve cellar (and more margaritas!). After the tour you get about 3 hrs to roam around the town and eat and once back in J.C. we got to see a great Mexican Show and once finished you are taken to the agave plantations to learn more about the plant and all the process it takes to get the agave to its final state for the production of the Tequila. Tour guides, baristas and staff in general are all friendly and helpful.
