I recently had the pleasure of visiting Fortaleza, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best experiences I’ve had at any bar. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by an inviting atmosphere that perfectly blends traditional Mexican charm with a modern, upscale vibe. The décor is tasteful, with warm lighting, rustic wooden accents, and colorful, hand-painted tiles that set the perfect mood for enjoying a fine tequila.
Speaking of tequila, the selection here is absolutely top-notch. Whether you’re a seasoned tequila connoisseur or just starting your journey, m fortaleza has something for everyone. The menu features an extensive array of tequilas, from well-known favorites to rare and exclusive bottles. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their offerings, guiding you through the different options and helping you find the perfect pour to suit your taste.
I was particularly impressed by their tequila flights, which offer a curated tasting experience that allows you to explore the nuances of different varieties. Each tequila was served with a brief explanation of its origin and flavor profile, enhancing the overall experience. The cocktails were equally impressive—creative, expertly crafted, and bursting with flavor. The signature margarita was a standout, with the perfect balance of tangy lime, smooth tequila, and just the right amount of sweetness.
But what truly sets fortaleza apart is the level of service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcome and well taken care of. Our server was attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about tequila, making our visit not just a night out, but a memorable experience.
Whether you’re looking for a place to unwind after work, celebrate a special occasion, or simply enjoy a top-quality tequila, fortaleza should be at the top of your list. I can’t wait to return and explore more of what they have to offer. Highly...
Read moreWow what a visit! This is the most wonderful distillery I’ve visited. For a smaller production, they employ about 100 - all with heart and passion for the product they make, which just so happens to be the most traditional tequila you can find. I took the Bisabuelo tour with Eunice and spent three hours with her. We began on a long walk throughout the grounds of the old Hacienda Sauza, walking all the way up to the view point, providing the best view of El Valle de Tequila. Then we went through the entire process. Their production is relatively small and all pretty much in one room. You will see very unique ovens used to cook the agaves, an actual tahona used for 100% of their output, wooden wash backs, and unique copper pot stills. Then we saw the bottling facility, all on site and all by hand. Most impressed with the fact that they make every piña bottle top by hand right there - incredible touch. Next, we spent a while in their actual tasting cave, complete with bats! Most incredible place I’ve ever tasted spirits. Eunice bid adieu to me at the lake surrounded by gardens and a Golden Gate Bridge replica leading to a little island. They served fantastic Baja-style tacos and more beverages. As if this weren’t enough, I randomly ran into a group of bartenders I had met a few days earlier in Guadalajara who were on a tour. Small world for a gringo from Colorado to run into some peeps from Guadalajara. We enjoyed some quality time, and then I ran into Don Guillermo, the owner of the distillery. Introduced myself and we sat together for a bit, with his dogs (one of which I wanted so bad to take home). All together this experience was among the greatest I’ve had. If you come to Tequila and visit this distillery, consider yourself very lucky. As for the tequila? It’s the best you can find. Thank-you...
Read moreVisiting Tequilera La Fortaleza was an experience that went beyond my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with the warmest welcome that made me feel right at home. The staff’s passion for their craft was evident in every interaction, and their extensive knowledge of the distillery’s history and operations was truly impressive. The tour of the grounds was a highlight of my visit. Kim the guide’s expertise shone through as she shared fascinating insights into the tequila-making process, from the harvesting of the Blue Weber agaves to the final distillation. It was a privilege to witness the care and tradition that goes into every bottle of their premium tequila. The tasting session in the atmospheric cave was the perfect culmination of the tour. Each tequila was distinct and flavorful, reflecting the quality and heritage that Tequilera La Fortaleza prides itself on. It was not just a tasting, but an educational journey through the different profiles and notes that make their tequila stand out in the industry. I left Tequilera La Fortaleza with a newfound appreciation for tequila and the people who dedicate their lives to producing it. Their commitment to maintaining traditional methods while hosting guests with such grace is commendable. I highly recommend a visit to anyone looking to explore the heart of tequila culture in a place where history and hospitality blend seamlessly.
