Great place to spend the day. 10 peso bus ride from PV. Many restaurants on the beach. Went to La Gaviotas like we did last year expecting the same great service and pleasant reception…. However we were greeted by grumpy Rene. Things did not improve … told us we could not have extra lime for our beer… “one beer, one lime…. “ so we paid the bill and moved to a different restaurant on the beach Ramada Camarena. Superb service and friendly. I forgot the name of our waiter, but a young guy that was a pleasure to chat with when he had time. Too bad, we would usually get to la Gaviotas early to start our day with coffee and something sweet. The gal that used to run the place must have retired or moved on…. We noticed it was the least busiest of all restaurants on the beach. Opportunity for a decent walk alongside the bay, snorkeling, swimming…waitstaff will save your beach chair and watch your stuff (they will remind you to secure your wallet and phone in your pack and zip it up) Mismaloya Beach is a “must do” every time we come to this...

Read moreWe had the most amazing experiences at Mismaloya Beach. First we went on our own, just my husband and I for the full day, taking the bus early in the morning and spending all day there until the last bus left back to PV. Next time we went with our daughter and SIL on the tour bus, which as also super worth it (take Sunscreen and a hat!). We spent hours lounging at the great restaurant right by the river entrance and lounging in their deck chairs. I would highly recommend going to see this tiny fishing village. It also has the famous film location of The Night of the Iguana (Richard Burton, Ava Gardner and Deborah Kerr) right there on the end of the...
