Parque Revolución (Parque Rojo) — Attraction in Jalisco

There are many myths about this park. Some of them are true, and others are truer. On Saturdays you can buy all kinds of trinkets in its flea market. It is usually pricy compared to other outdoor markets. But if it is second-hand clothing what you are looking for then you will be at the right place. From Monday to Friday, it is usually occupied by hipsters, punks, bumps, and ocasional dealers and their buyers. So, basically, there is nothing to do within it unless you need to take the subway. So, I wouldn't advise wandering the park. On Sundays, on the other side, it is vivid and fun. Thanks to the 'via recreativa', which is the government's answer to boredom. It is a 5 km walk from one borough to another within the city where you can jog, skate, and ride your bicycle around the main arteries of Guadalajara. It connects four of the five boroughs we have: Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque, Zapopan, and Tonala. So, at the park you will be able to practice your chess skills, do flying yoga, do aerobics, and other fun activities always protected by the careful eye of the police. So, we can say it is pretty safe coming here with your family. There is a 'darker' and even 'spooky' side of the park at night, but hey, this is Google and we can't talk about it. But do not...

Well I've lived here 11 years now and I have ran across all its ups and downs threw the years and since I also skateboard I see the growth in kids and teenagers come out more to use its center for skating. There's a section where kids ect. Do rap, they do yoga, rope balancing, breakdance, and many other fun things. I think it need more lighting in the night because it gets pretty dark and lighting that's there isn't enough and there's lots of movement with people seeing that it's also the start point to the line 1 Juarez trainstation. And being dark has led to more individuals having to stay there and sleep or can attract bad people to use this darkness as early as 7 or 8 pm to commit crime. So lighting really needs some improvement for the safety of everybody and so we can continue using this historical park in a more productive way and continue to grow history with lots of great fun times that you can enjoy at this park. El parque Revolución, tiene varias décadas de haber sido creado de hecho hasta 1926, fue en donde se encontraba la prisión de Escobedo, dicha prisión fue transferida a otro lugar de la ciudad en donde se le conoció como la prisión de Oblatos, hasta que finalmente fue transferida a lo que hoy se le conoce como la prisión de Puente Grande. Pero bueno volvamos al asunto de esta reseña el parque Revolución/Rojo sufrió muchos cambios aún en la década de los 70's, que fue cuando se hizo la calzada del Federalismo y se abrió en dos dicha calle, ya que era una calle en si. Hoy en día este parque Revolución/Rojo, está bien poblado de árboles y jardínes, al cruce de la avenida Juárez y la calzada del Federalismo está un hotel de nombre Portobello y a media cuadra una sucursal de los bancos B.B.V.A Bancomer, así como también una sucursal del banco HSBC, así como también está el templo dedicado a nuestra Señora del Carmen y su ex-convento. Aclaro una cosa que no he estado en el hotel Portobello, así es que no he podido hacer un diagnóstico del mismo lugar que estoy mencionando. También existen algunos lugares para comer como son los Dogos Cachondos, ellos se pusieron en donde estaban los Tacos Especiales, ese nombre me trae recuerdos a mi memoria, comí muy rico en ese lugar ahora ya desaparecido. También existe un lugar enfrente de los Dogos Cachondos, en donde venden unas empanadas rellenas de guisos y de mermeladas de diferentes frutos. Y cómo podrán apreciar este parque tiene a su alrededor varios lugares de interés claro que no podía olvidar a las tortas Benditas en donde sirven muy bien hay tortas de Jamón, pierna, etc. Es un buen lugar para ir a pasear por las tardes con amigos, familiares, novio/a, amantes, etc, se encuentra este parque Revolución/Rojo, en la avenida del Federalismo y avenida Juárez y la calle de Marcos castellanos en donde también hay algunos buenos restaurantes.
