If you have an interest in Free Diving or Scuba courses Ocean Tigers is the perfect Hostel for you. Ben the hostel owner is a Certified AIDA Free Diving instructor who has been Free Diving for over 20 years.
Ben follows the AIDA course to the letter, with your care and safety his highest priority, whilst pushing you to meet your Free Diving potential.
I'm not a youngster any longer, but have had a life long passion to free dive and Ben patiently worked with me over 2.5 days to pass the AIDA2 course. The first day included a detailed theory/safety session, relaxation phase and a static pool breath hold. I came to the course with some breath hold experience, but Ben took me from a static pool hold of 2.5 minutes to 4.11 minutes. My safety buddy, who had just completed AIDA2 had done a 6 minute static hold under Ben's guidance. Amazing results.
The next day Ben took me for a sea dive at a local Cabo beach, where I was able to complete a 16 meter (50 feet) free Dive, as well as a 40 meter (131 feet) dynamic (horizontal) dive.
It was Ben's vast expertise and encouragement that allowed me to believe I could do this, which ensured I met my course targets.
The next day we went for an Ocean dive, just 20 minutes by boat from Cabo downtown. This was absolutely amazing on so many levels, as we had an incredible day, with calm seas and clear water. Ben dropped the dive rope to 20 meters (70 feet) and with additional training and guidance I was able to complete a free immersion dive to the 20 meters.
Thanks to Ben, I've been able to become a proficient and certified Free diver. This was a dream for me and I will always be grateful to Ben for this gift.
I will definitely be returning to train and dive with Ben in Cabo and I highly recommend that anyone with an interest in Free Diving go stay and train with Ben at Ocean Tigers Hostel in Cabo.
Although I did not stay at the Hostel, I was there a lot over those days and can confirm what a safe and chill...

This was my 1st trip traveling completely solo. I used the roof deck for yoga, sunrises and sunsets. I chillaxed in the shaded hammock, cooled in the sparkling clean pool, enjoyed socializing with the other polite, respectful guests and staff. I slept in when I wanted and walked to town center in a snap.
Ben arranges all my transportation from the time I arrived until I departed and all my excursions (swimming w/whale sharks in LaPaz, Scuba diving in both Cabo Pulmo and Cabo San Lucas,) He recommended the perfect restaurants.for what I wanted when I didn’t prepare my own food at the dive house. It was my pleasure to give him my business. I have never experienced a better “bang for my buck!” His value is immeasurable. 🎖
It was my wisest decision to get my PADI certification through Ocean Tigers Dive House. I have a been taught diving tips that keep me and my gear safe and make all my dives more pleasurable. I come back to Ocean Tigers again and again after diving other locations around the world. When I recommend Ocean Tigers to others, I always get great feedback and positive comments👍🏼
Thank you Ben and Ocean Tigers Dive House for your exceptional integrity and service! See you...
Read moreI did my AIDA2&3 with Benoit, the owner of the dive house and the freediving instructor and Viktor, the other instructor. I had nothing but compliments for the whole experience. First of all, due to COVID, I had to schedule and cancel my trip for 5 times. I probably hold the record for that - something I'm not so proud of. But once I started the course, it became apparent that all the hard work was worth it. As someone who's gone through a lot of dive training, I can say with confidence that the instructor, regardless of agency, is vital in determining the quality of the class. Benoit has it in his character to instill the confidence and calmness that you need for the sport. He's patient, kind and extremely encouraging. For a beginner, the key to freediving is relaxation, which enables you to condition your mind to revert the innate urge to breathe, when your blood oxygenation is still way beyond dangerous levels. When I was in deep water and my body was screaming for air, when I failed to equalize again and again, I heard this small but powerful voice from Benoit saying I could do it and I would be safe. It was all that belief that made me go deeper and deeper as my training progressed. So, a big Kudo to Benoit and Viktor. I will certainly go back for...
