First time visiting from Dallas TX! I was very excited to visit this place. I was happy taking pictures, enjoying the museum but was COMPLETELY RUINED after a rude female guard came up to my face, raising her tone, telling me that she had already told me I needed to be 1 meter away from the artifact, which were the "translucent lights". I accidentally stepped a few steps back, as I got carried away taking pictures, mind you, I still had a decent distance. Unfortunately, this place doesn't have an indicator marked of the floor LIKE any other museum does🙄

Well, I contained myself from starting an argument since other visitors were going inside the translucent light square and even touching them.

Her lack of empathy and hostility attitude ruined this place for me. Raising her tone in my face, in a quiet place was unnecessary! No one should go through that disrespect!

Other than that, the museum was alright, here's a pic 📸...

We really enjoyed our visit to the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey. The exhibitions were very interesting and well-curated, and it was a wonderful cultural experience overall.

One suggestion I’d make is to add more seating areas throughout the galleries, especially for visitors with low mobility or elderly guests. We had some difficulty finding a place for our elderly family member to sit and rest while we continued exploring. More benches or resting spots would definitely improve accessibility and comfort for everyone.

It’s worth noting that on Wednesdays, the museum offers free admission in the early evening, and they often have live music performances which make the visit even more enjoyable. You do need to line up to get an entrance ticket, so I recommend arriving early as the line can get quite long.

Overall, a great place to experience contemporary art in Monterrey. We would definitely...

❌ One of the workers told my boyfriend, who was holding my backpack, that he could not come in unless I was holding the bag because the females should be the one holding purses and small bags. It was very strange and pretty sexist. Even though we see men carrying backpacks all around the city. ❌ 1st floor had bad quality projector art and it was overall underwhelming ✅ 2nd floor was more historical and interesting ❌The guards/workers don’t let you get close to the art. I tried taking a picture with a piece and I wasn’t even touching it, and they told me to step away. ✅Free entry on Sunday’s Overall: Nice-okay art, some picturesque parts, free on Sunday, but uptight...
