UPDATE BELOW
WARNING!!! WARNING!!! This morning, before leaving for breakfast, I checked my purse (THAT HAS STAYED IN MY ROOM SINCE CHECK IN) and found it completely emptied out! 9 one hundred dollar bills were taken 1 twenty dollar bill and around 15 or so one dollar bill. This wallet NEVER left my room. I feel so violated! At this point, dealing with their joke or security and public relations is trash, and I'm almost 100% nothing will be done. Ill update later as this has happened just this morning. People, please keep all of your cash on your person!!!
A SMALL UPDATE: As expected, security did a joke of an investigation, and we now have to wait for them to interview several staff. The girl even said they do " lie detector tests.... PLEASE. I'm headed to the police tomorrow as they were closed today. It's funny how the "public relations" staff suggested we go today when apparently theft reports are only taken Monday through Friday. What a waste of what's left of my vacation to Uber to the police station and literally drive straight back. I am only filling because I need the police report to make some disputes with my credit card. You better believe that if nothing is done to compensate me, I'll take other actions.
It seems like the majority of the individuals who come on these posts to troll members who have had issues are actually associated with Moon Palace. Part of their tactics, of course. It all makes sense. We come on these sites to share the good and bad while they look for any negative posts and shame guests who have had problems like theft. SOME, not all of these "devils advocates" are 100% staff at Moon Palace Cancun. What a joke. Of course, in hindsight, we wish we would have done this, that, and the 3rd! Let my loss be my loss and not any of yours. The whole point of my posting is to warn others. Not all details were given in a brief post regarding my theft incident. Could I spend 30 minutes writing a fully detailed description of how I was robbed? Sure. But the point of me sharing my story was to essentially deter future or current guests from leaving any cash in the room....INCLUDING THE SAFE!! Had I seen a post similar to mine prior to arriving, perhaps I wouldn't be in this situation. Am I going to starve without my $900 cash? NO. As a matter of fact, the majority of that cash would have gone to the staff on my last evening as I always tip generously on the last night of my stay.
So to those who have said under my post, "you jumped too quick to the conclusion that staff stole" --- I say to you - I am 100% certain staff stole my cash. There is zero doubt. I posted in several FACEBOOK sites, and all of a sudden, after sharing my experience, I was taken out of the group.
To those who were kind, empathetic, and showed me compassion...THANK YOU, and may God bless and protect you during your...
Read moreAt arrival we were greeted a warm welcome to the facility, luggage drop process is very quick and simple.
We understand that we arrived at an hour where it was expected to be busy, the issue we had was that one of the reservations was nowhere to be found and had to contact Expedia to get further assistance, they where exceptionally great at resolving this problem. In the check-in process not only it took longer to complete due to the previous problem, but our names where completely wrong and mixed. Part of the process of doing the check-in is to be offered an optional talk about a membership which for whoever is interested by all means accept it but for us it wasn't the first time visiting this resort and we kindly kept denying it but man... they insisted to the point that we started to feel a bit harassed because not only was this talk offered at the check-in, it was offered the next morning (may I add quite early) and at the time of checkout.
In this last visit we didn't used the membership since we where invited with a different party who had arranged everything, but as someone who had once enjoyed that "membership treatment", which is one of the greatest, this time... a total contrast with that previous flawless experience.
All inclusive means ALL INCLUSIVE, room service 24/7 with the jacuzzi, mini bar refill daily, a bed that embraces you so you get a sound sleep.
Aside of the issues at the time we checked in, the warmth of the staff is mesmerizing.
Beach was not as beautiful as it would normally be as there was presence of sargassum but they where constant to keep the sand quite clear of any debris.
For someone who enjoys cocktails in some of the bars, (which there a lot in the resort) they need to standardize how they are prepared, for in some bars they where a bit more sweet, heavy, light, watery, ice packed, they where not that consistent.
There are many shows to enjoy and if you don't know what to do in there, you can schedule an activity or make an appointment yo have a very nice dinner at one of the many restaurants that they have.
You'll have many food options to choose from but they do need to work a bit more in their vegetarian options. My wife had to resort to practically the same type of food as the vegetarian options where quite limited.
Don't get me wrong if this would have been the first time that we had visited this resort, I would have given 4 stars, but I already know what we should have...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and 3 days, and it was a disappointing experience. I want to highlight a couple of issues for future travelers:
If you're considering booking this hotel because of the Indian restaurant inside, be cautious. The restaurant is only open for dinner, and reservations are required. Unfortunately, it's nearly impossible to secure a reservation. Don't choose this hotel solely for the Indian dining option.
Be wary of the promotional offers, particularly for the one-day water park ticket. The staff can be quite pushy and even resort to intimidating tactics to make you purchase their products. My experience with their aggressive sales approach was unpleasant, and I wouldn't recommend falling...
