One of the most famous tourist attractions in Casablanca that local residents, Arab and foreign tourists from different countries of the world must visit when traveling to Casablanca, perhaps because it is the main square and the most famous square in the city, which includes a number of establishments, government interests and foreign embassies whose buildings date back to the occupation era The French country, in addition to its central location between United Nations Square and Hassan II Street. Mohammed V Square is also famous for the huge fountain that decorates its center and is lit at night, and the palm trees lining it, with the statue of General Lyautey, founder of the city’s port, which is in the middle of the court and governorate buildings. In addition to its importance as a home to the vital institutions and establishments in the country, Mohammed V is distinguished for being a vibrant and dynamic square, day and night, as it is home to the finest restaurants, cafes and stores in which you can enjoy a wonderful tour and evening stroll.

Mohammed V Square, located in the heart of Casablanca, Morocco, is a vibrant hub that encapsulates the city's rich history and modern dynamism. Established in the early 20th century during the French Protectorate, the square was designed by architects Henri Prost and Joseph Marrast to serve as the administrative center of the "European City" envisioned for Casablanca. The square is surrounded by notable buildings that blend Moorish Revival and Art Deco architectural styles, reflecting the city's colonial heritage. Key structures include the Palace of Justice, the Bank Al-Maghrib, the Central Post Office, and the Wilaya Building, each contributing to the square's distinctive aesthetic. A central feature of Mohammed V Square is its large circular fountain, often referred to as the "Pigeons' Fountain" due to the numerous pigeons that gather there. The fountain is not just decorative but also serves as a symbol of the confluence of cultures in Casablanca.

If you want to see a lot of pigeons, go here, just be wary of the photographers who want you to feed the pigeons. You're obviously going to be expected to tip them but some of them ask for silly amounts. Agree on a price before you even grab the food to feed the pigeons. Of course, feel free to support as they will do their best to capture pictures of you with the pigeons. Anyway, it's a nice small square to just relax in and admire the pigeons. You can also see a water seller here who wear traditional clothing from the Sahara desert. They wear red clothing with a big hat.

Currently large areas are under construction, so it's a mix of nice and not so nice. The main area is open though. And quite scenic. Caution ⚠: There are people who try to sell you bird food. They are quite obnoxious, but 3 firm NO's did the trick. The land marks are quite nice, but besides that there isn't much to do. Some street vendors with kids' car rides (for those that have kids) but not much more. Worth a visit to see what's going on in the city, but nothing to write home about. There are a crazy amount of pigeons though.

Beautiful place to visit, with imponent buildings, the security it's very good, because politicians and authorities are in the buildings around the place Mohamed V, like french embassy, Moroccan Post and others important govern buildings, it's a very beautiful place to visit at the city, only thing I didn't liked was the birds, and people giving corn to this animals, but the children was so happy doing this, so it's all right to me.
