Absolutely beautiful sunset ride with Chafie & Cesar, Soul & Rockdeux.
He did so well catering for me as a more experienced rider and my partner who is a novice.
The horses were fit, healthy and well groomed, beautifully trained - we were all on Berber/Arab stallions and they were quiet and well behaved, but still with plenty of personality. The tack was older but serviceable and seemed to fit well, a mix of English saddles and western bridles. We got provided with helmets and disposable hairnets to wear under them. When we got back to the yard after our ride the horses were all washed off and fed, they clearly knew the routine and were relaxed and comfortable around the staff and Chafie. You can tell they are very loved by the whole team!
For our ride we went out through the Kasbah and over the bridge to Ait Benhaddou, then spent an hour or so exploring the landscape on a circular route as the sun set.
Chafie was super encouraging and positive, the horses are all voice trained and knew where there was the potential for a canter or gallop, but were happy to be held back or stand if you didn’t want to. If you’re looking for a really unique experience on some beautiful well loved horses you won’t be disappointed - we hope to be back another time for a multi day ride once my partner has improved his skills...
Read moreJust back from 2 days one night trip with Nomad Horse Riding. We had a fabulous time in incredible scenery on awesome horses. I’ve ridden all my life and had a fast but easy to handle horse, my husband has ridden 10 times but had a fantastic horse who really looked after him and he was cantering along behind fully in control and choosing when he would prefer to trot, if we cantered ahead. The horses are fit and well cared for. We rode for about 8hrs a day and stayed over night in the home of a Berber family at an impressive oasis village. Their house was in very good condition, very clean, especially the toilet which is a French style launching pad, as with a lot of Morocco, and had running water. They provided plenty of hot water for us to shower in. They were most hospitable! They made sure we were warm, despite it being winter and fed us incredibly well. Our bags were brought to us there and we carried what we needed for the day in saddle bags. We lunched each day at a different oasis and the horses had a good lunch, drink and rest at this time.
The desert landscape is stunning with a backdrop of the Atlas Mountains but it is also very rocky with no end to the rocks but that is also part of its beauty.
Our guide Majid was lovely and an excellent...
Read moreAll I can say about Chafie And Mehdi in terms of lessons is nothing but AMAZING things. I am new to horseback riding and Chafie has done an amazing job building my confidence and knowledge of horses. I came to Chafie with literally not knowing anything about horses and am now in the market for leases or owning horses in less then a year. I feel that the knowledge that Chafie has given me has me on the right hoof to success in riding and ownership. I currently am riding Chafie Quarter Horse and isn't known to be a beginner's horse and I feel like it has been giving lessons for years. In addition to lessons and knowledge Chafie knows how to make you feel important and can have a good time at the same time being a teacher. I look forward to many more lessons and building a friendship with her outside of lessons....
