I have to offer a very different review than those I saw when booking and that convinced me to book here.
First, the positives: the view of Ait Benhaddou is beautiful (though the terrace was not as kempt as others we saw in the area), they offered us tea on arrival, the building had lovely adobe walls, there was private parking, and breakfast was decent for the overall price paid (39€). But you get what you pay for.
However, the bathroom had a tiny sink, smaller than a laptop, which made it impossible to wash even your face or brush your teeth and water kept pouring down the back of the sink. There was no shower door or curtain, ensuring the bathroom got soaked with a quick shower. The toilet paper holder was extremely old and corroded and kept coming out of the part attached to the wall. There was no mattress cover on the bed, and instead of a fitted sheet, there was simply a flat sheet no larger than the span of the mattress, meaning that with the simplest of movements while sleeping you ended up on the bare mattress itself, absolutely unacceptable. We were also dubious as to whether the sheets were clean.
The worst part is that my husband and I believe he encountered bedbugs here, as upon waking there were a couple of small bloodstains on the pillowcase and sheet near the bottom, and that day after our stay he began having an allergic reaction to dozens of bites. I understand this can be an issue anywhere, but I realize the less you pay for accommodations, the higher the risk of running into issues like this.
Overall, if I hadn’t read the hugely positive reviews I had, I probably would have booked elsewhere, because while this place has potential, some serious hygienic...

The room was not really clean though, especially the bathroom, there was no hot water (after waiting for a couple of minutes with running tap) and even though there was an AC in the room, it did not manage to heat it up. We were really cold throughout the night and that was really unpleasant. I’d say don’t go there in winter months (around 5 degrees at night) as you will likely be...
