🚧 Inadequate Instructions: While there are instructions on how to use the slide, they appear insufficient in preventing risky behaviors. Clear and reinforced guidelines are crucial for maintaining a safe environment.

🚨 Prior Incidents: Witnessing situations where larger children jeopardized the safety of smaller ones raised concerns for both parents and children.

My 10-year-old son is professionally engaged in swimming at a sports club. During the Christmas holidays, we decided to visit the pool together with him and his friend to better prepare for the upcoming competitions in January. It seemed like a great idea — spending time together while practicing sports! However, unfortunately, we chose the Optisport Sloterparkbad pool, which led to a series of unpleasant situations.

Before starting our sessions, we carefully studied the information on the pool's official website, where we selected and purchased three subscriptions for "Lane swimming for exercise or relaxation." Our plan was to train, do exercises, and enjoy quality time together.

On the second day of our visits, we discovered that only four lanes were available for general swimming, as the others were occupied by athletes. Nevertheless, we continued to swim with the children without any issues. However, a manager named Silman approached us and said that I could not train with my children there. When I asked for an explanation, he suggested we wait until the athletes finished their training and move to the other lanes.

A week later, on January 4, 2025, we returned to the pool but faced new complaints. We were told that we were "not following the rules" and that all visitors must strictly swim along the lane lines. When I pointed out that we had purchased tickets specifically for "Lane swimming for exercise or relaxation" and wanted to practice swimming techniques with the children, I received a categorical refusal: training was only allowed strictly along the lane lines.

It appears that the pool's management does not encourage activities involving parents and children together. Voorafgaand aan onze bezoeken hebben we zorgvuldig de informatie op de officiële website van het zwembad bekeken, waar we drie abonnementen hebben gekozen en gekocht voor "Lane swimming for exercise or relaxation". Ons plan was om te trainen, oefeningen te doen en samen van de tijd te genieten.

Op de tweede dag van ons bezoek ontdekten we dat er slechts vier banen beschikbaar waren voor algemeen zwemmen, omdat de andere bezet waren door atleten. Desondanks gingen we rustig verder met zwemmen samen met de kinderen. Maar toen benaderde een manager genaamd Silman ons en zei dat ik niet met mijn kinderen mocht trainen. Op mijn vraag waarom, stelde hij voor om te wachten tot de training van de atleten was afgelopen en naar de andere banen over te gaan.

Een week later, op 4 januari 2025, kwamen we terug naar het zwembad, maar kregen we opnieuw klachten te horen. Ons werd verteld dat we "niet volgens de regels" zwommen en dat alle bezoekers strikt langs de baankabels moesten zwemmen. Toen ik aangaf dat we juist tickets hadden gekocht voor "Lane swimming for exercise or relaxation" en oefeningen wilden doen om de zwemtechniek van de kinderen te verbeteren, kreeg ik een categorische afwijzing: trainen mocht alleen strikt langs de lijnen van de baan.

Het lijkt erop dat het management van het zwembad geen activiteiten tussen ouders en kinderen samen aanmoedigt. Bovendien zijn de regels niet duidelijk gedefinieerd, en de voorwaarden die op de website worden vermeld, komen niet overeen met de daadwerkelijke organisatie van het proces. New cafe area is a nice addition. The openingtimes are not ideal for recreation swimming. it Always closes super early for general swimming. The pools for lessons are nice and clean. The public pool areas should be avoided during school holidays as they do not seem to be able to keep up with the crowd for pool hygiene. Murky water, kids with rashes and sore tummies afterwards. Outside kids pool could use some renovations. Outside of holidays and busy weekends its a nice pool with steam cabins and bubble baths. Locker rooms for lessons lack lockers and therefore you cannot secure anything. edit. year later to add steam cabins can be filthy. mouldy and outright nasty at times. it seems they are either not cleaned or not even close to properly cleaned in the past year since my original review. so im gonna lower from 4 to 3 star for the recreational pools and...
