The station is very nice and modern, and you can find everything you need—except for some kindness and empathy from certain NS conductors. Today, my train was cancelled due to a collision, and I had to catch a flight in Germany. A bus arrived 20 minutes after my train was supposed to depart. Unfortunately, the bus was only for travellers with ICE tickets.
When I asked if I could take the bus because of my flight, the conductor simply sent me away, saying there was no space on the bus and that another bus was on the way, but he didn't know when it would arrive. Then, another person told me I could get an ICE ticket and take the bus.
Okay, I ran to the ticket office, where I was told I could take the bus despite what the previous conductor had said. I ran back, only to be told again that I couldn't board the bus without an ICE ticket. Bravo. Amazing coordination.
Fortunately, there was a distinguished employee who helped me at the ticket machine, assisted me in purchasing the ticket, and contacted the bus staff via radio to ask them to wait for me. Thank you for that!
However, NS’s handling of the situation, and the actions of some of its employees, were quite frustrating. First, there was no information available about the buses. Then, I was given false information about how full the bus was. NS will have to pay for the rented bus regardless of whether it's full or not—not to mention the environmental impact.
Please, NS, provide some empathy and customer service training for some of your employees! It's worth more than having five security people standing around in...

After years of construction the central station of Arnhem is left with a beautiful abundance of space. Because of it’s modern design and dynamic use of of height and levels it feels like an interactive work of art, surely paying homage to MC Escher and the seemingly impossible buildings.
The building not only serves as a place to catch the trains that are conveniently direct to places like Utrecht, Amsterdam, Den Bosch, Zwolle, ect It also has a few hidden treasures of places to get some food or coffee. Great parking opportunities and the skaters love hanging around the outside doing cool tricks.
There is a piano available that rings beautifully throughout the building, elevators and escalators, regular stairs that serve as seating if an event were to take place indoors.
Lots of photographers flock to the building for its unique architecture and don’t just stop at the outside; there are tons of beautiful angles in all levels from the parking garage, to the main hall, to the upper levels to the bike rentals.
The flow in the building is throughly considered, and that makes this a must see...
