As a slap of nature, the park hit me. Approaching I could not believe it was a park at first, looking loke a bunch of dead nature piled up on itself.
Getting closer and entering the park, the beautiful smell of nature is the first thing that struck me. It felt like I left the city way back forgotten. The gorgeous colors, even in the winter it felt like I can be with it and grow. Unpaved paths and muddy terrain make the experience even more playful(don't bring clean clothes for this one.) Cute and tiny insects and birds live in the park seemingly working together for the benefit of all. This park can be a great and intimate place to bring loved ones and connect with what is forgotten in big cities. The park consists of many small ecosystems, there's a few places that look like beaches, there's a tiny mountain path, there is a jungle walk that extends throughout the whole place. There's a bunch of tiny islands that are connected by bridges, we all loved to explore and experience.
I'd suggest, it's a 5/5 for me, this park is a necessary thing for the people who care about...

Its quiet, many birds and kept clean by local community enthusiasts. To me it is a great walk in nature to get away from the city rush with many little bench stops here and there. You'd be surprised how tranquil this park is... if I can call it a park, because it has a secret garden feel to it.
One minus why I don't give 5 stars (and I blame the council for not getting control of this situation in the city all round)... Homeless people set up camp here from time to time, who leave their mess with huge disrespect to the community and nature. A great thank you to the enthusiasts who clean the paths and mess every Sunday.
I recommend it if you feel like a relaxing walk and you are in the...
Read moreI absolutely love LOVE this rugged park. It's not beautiful in any conventional way but it's absolutely amazing and really great for a stroll or walk the dog. The entrance is around the corner from the mosque. It doesn't look like an entrance to the park as it serves also as an entrance to football clubs and others. You can also walk along the Essensingel and enter the park at...
