Oceanium — Attraction in Rotterdam

People are smoking everywhere. There was not a staff member in sight. People were throwing things at the animals. Children screaming at the animals. Again no supervision from staff whatsoever. Hyenas are next to the railway - horrible. The Plastic awareness section was so underwhelming. Maybe one family walked through there just to get to the exit. Poor to absent information on all of the animals. Where is the awareness about their purpose there? What is their life like? As a leader of "zoos" in Europe and as a 10 top breeding of endangered species in the world, they need to set a better example. Has a lot of potential to be a great center for education and haven for animals. (currently the space to animal size ratio...

Zoo très sympathique. Les différents enclos sont bien aménagés, la visite est sympathique. Prévoir la journée avec des enfants, sinon une demi journée suffit pour des adultes.

Gros bémol concernant le PLASTIQUE. Dans l'Oceanium, le zoo tente de faire de la prévention quand au risque des plastiques à usage unique pour l'océan. C'est bien. Mais dans tous le zoo, le plastique a usage unique est utilisé par les snack. PAILLES, COUVERTS, BOUTEILLES, SACHET DE CHIPS. Il faut arrêter de se voiler la face, vous êtes responsable du problème. Arrêtez de servir du plastique à usage unique à vos visiteur, il termine déjà dans les enclos des animaux... Photo des ratons laveur avec une bouteille de soda flottant dans l'eau du bassin. Aucune poubelle de tri pour le recyclage.

Great place to visit in Rotterdam, half a day is enough if you don't have children. Not easy to go to if you are visiting the city by foot.

The Zoo is trying to explain the danger of simple use plastics in the oceanium. But they are using it EVERYWHERE. If you order anything to eat, you'll get plastic: STRAW, CUTTLERY, BOTTLE and CHIPS BAG. All of this is single use plastic. Get rid of it, be serious about it. First the straw, remove them or get them in paper. Then remove the plastic cuttlery for Waffles, wood one will do the same job. And get rid of plastic soda bottle, it will prevent them from getting inside the water of your animals (picture will explain better). Get reusable glasses. Right now YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. And BTW there was no recycling trash can anywhere in the zoo. I guess it's easier to explain the problem then taking care of it... Your city is home to the OCEAN CLEANUP PROGRAM. This is a real danger...

Das Ozeanium in Rotterdam, das als Teil des bekannten Zoos Diergaarde Blijdorp angelegt ist, war ein absolutes Highlight unseres Besuchs. Es ist modern gestaltet und beherbergt eine beeindruckende Vielfalt an bunten und faszinierenden Meeresbewohnern. Von leuchtend farbenfrohen Korallenriff-Fischen bis hin zu majestätischen Haien und anmutigen Rochen – die Vielfalt der Tierarten und ihre Lebensräume sind äußerst spannend und detailreich dargestellt.

Besonders gut gefallen hat uns, dass das Ozeanium nicht nur schön gestaltet, sondern auch sehr informativ ist. An jeder Station gibt es umfassende Hintergrundinformationen zu den Tieren, ihren natürlichen Lebensräumen und dem Schutz der Meere. Die Tafeln und interaktiven Bildschirme laden dazu ein, mehr über das Leben unter Wasser zu erfahren und geben Einblicke in das Verhalten und die Besonderheiten der verschiedenen Meeresbewohner.

Die gesamte Anlage ist modern und gepflegt, mit großen Glaswänden, die einen hautnahen Blick auf das Leben im Wasser ermöglichen. Besonders eindrucksvoll fand ich den langen Unterwasser-Tunnel, durch den man mitten durch ein riesiges Aquarium läuft. Hier kann man die Tiere aus nächster Nähe beobachten und sich fast wie in der Tiefsee fühlen.

Das Ozeanium bietet nicht nur ein großartiges Erlebnis für Familien mit Kindern, sondern ist auch für Erwachsene sehr interessant und lehrreich. Die Kombination aus einem optisch ansprechenden, modernen Design und der Fülle an Informationen macht den Besuch zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis.

Insgesamt ein toller Ort, der auf faszinierende Weise den Schutz der Meere und die Schönheit des Lebens unter Wasser näherbringt. Absolut empfehlenswert für jeden...
