From New Amsterdam to Old Amsterdam.....
I visited this shop whilst in port on my Regal Princess Transatlantic Cruise in April. It was a good 20-30 minutes Uber ride there. I took plenty of pictures along the way. When you stroll into Holland Souvenir Shop on Appelmarkt 6 in Schiedam, it’s like stepping into a Dutch carnival of clogs, Delft Blue dazzlers, and stroopwafel temptations. Think of it as Disneyland for souvenir hunters—but with wooden shoes instead of Cinderella shoes!
Customer service that actually smiles: The staff aren’t just friendly—they’re certified happiness distributors. My mom and I had quite the enjoyable conversation with the wife that was manning the shop for her husband this particular day.
Budget-friendly brilliance: I can't emphasize on this enough. The wares here are cheaper than most souvenir hubs in Rotterdam—so you can nab that neon tulip magnet and a wooden shoe fridge magnet without shattering your travel fund. I managed to walk away with a nice amount of souvenirs to bring home. One of my more noticeable favorites was a "Stripper Pig." She represented Amsterdam's
They have a shop online, but judging from the previous reviews from other's online experiences, I would definitely come in person to this shop. Sometimes it's better tog get a feel for what you are purchasing.
Layout of delight: It’s cozy—not overwhelming pre‑Black‑Friday—and set beside one of Schiedam’s picturesque canals, adding just the right amount of Dutch postcard aesthetic to your shopping spree. Final quack: If quirky Dutch keepsakes and charming service are your jam, this shop is your stroopwafel-in-a-bite. Just don’t forget to pet a wooden shoe on your way out. I say final Quack because I ended up purchasing a Van Gogh Starry Night Rubber Ducky. Quite appropriate since I went...
Read moreVery friendly store, quick service... but the product I bought was not as depicted. It's about the Robin Ruth tie with Delft Blue theme. On the picture of the webshop, it's much more like real Delft Blue tiles, being blue-on-white. In real life, the product is more dark blue on medium blue. So it is more blurred. Also, the black lines in the picture are absent, so the effect is less 'tiled', this is clearly a new product run and the site is not updated.
I was offered money back very friendly , but for me it was too late, needed the tie for a special occasion, there was no time to find an alternative. Nice and friendly shop, just watch out, the tie you get is somewhat different from the product in...
